Non-Instructional Faculty Assignments (NIFA)- Call for Submissions
Now Accepting Non-Instructional Faculty Assignments
We are now accepting proposals from faculty seeking Non-Instructional Faculty Assignments for the 2021-2022 academic year. The purposes of the non-instructional assignments are: to contribute to the professional growth of the faculty; to improve the teaching and the curriculum across the University; and/or to enhance the scholarship and academic excellence of the University in ways that cannot be accomplished under the constraints of the regular workload assignments. Submission Deadlines: Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 – Suggested Deadline for Proposals to Department Chairs; Friday, January 29, 2021 – Deadline for Proposals to Academic Affairs. Winners will be announced after Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. Visit the website for eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and additional timeline dates.

Angel Tree
The Student Involvement & Leadership Center will be sponsoring an angel tree again this year. The tree is located in the RUC lobby and the ornaments will be ready for selection within the next two weeks.

HOMECOMING 2020 – FOOD PANTRY CAMPAIGN
Tennessee Tech students voted to include a drive for the food pantry as part of this year’s Homecoming activities. Student organizations compete to see who can raise the most money for the pantry, and alumni, donors, and the entire Golden Eagle community are invited to join Tech students in this campaign. Donors can choose to have their gift to the pantry benefit a campus organization or residence hall in the Homecoming competition if they wish, or they can simply make a gift on their own. Pixeled Past: Senior Thesis Exhibition in Clay by Jonathan Strong
School of Art, Craft, and Design candidate Jonathan Strong presents his final work in his BFA Thesis Exhibition, “Pixeled Past”, opening Wednesday, Nov. 11, thru Nov. 24, in the Appalachian Center for Craft Joe L. Evins Gallery.
In this exhibition, “Pixeled Past”, Jonathan uses a wide range of clay bodies as well as multiple building and firing techniques to achieve an aged appearance. Using these techniques, he hopes to invite the viewer into another world- a world where the heroes from our childhood video games were real. Jonathan strives to bring the viewer to a simpler time, where the heroes and villains told stories that inspired hope, taught principles of right and wrong, good and evil, and immersed the player in a fantastic world.

Rural Reimagined is Tennessee Tech’s Grand Challenge initiative to transform rural living through science, technology, research, and entrepreneurship.
