    Late registration will be closing on Friday, August 1st for C&S Staff Day 2025. Register now before the registration form closes! As a reminder, the t-shirt order deadline has already passed. Any available extra t-shirts will be given on a first come, first served basis to attendees. The Staff Advisory Committee has planned a half day retreat with guest speakers, vendors, and prizes.   • Notice to Users of MyEBSCO Folders and Journal/Search Alerts

    All of the library’s EBSCO databases will be migrated to their NEW User Interface on August 1. The transition should be seamless with the exception of saved content in your personal EBSCO user account (MyEBSCO). The following will not migrate automatically and must be saved to your personal device by July 31:

    Condensed and Shorter Research Security CITI Training Course Now Available

    A new condensed, one-hour research security module, called “Research Security (Combined)” is now available via CITI Program. This course satisfies research security training requirements for covered individuals (faculty, staff, and students whose R&D activities are funded by federal or state awards) and may be taken in lieu of the four-module “Research Security Training” CITI course. Those who have taken “Research Security Training” do not need to take the condensed course as well. For more information, please visit the Research Compliance Training Website.

    Ascend Literacy Seminar: Making Budget Work

    Ascend Credit Union will host their next free, virtual, financial literacy seminar, Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2pm-3pm.  Participants will identify personal obstacles to budgeting, create and apply a structure to track and analyze spending. They will also list short, medium, and long-term goals and discuss the importance of debt reduction and building emergency savings.     Jacob Turner is the new Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations

    University Development welcomes Jacob Turner as the new Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations!

    Jacob most recently served as the Co-Owner and Vice President of Development for Fitec International, LLC.  He oversaw business operations, including sales, logistics, finance, and budgeting, ensuring seamless processes. He led all aspects of import and export operations, maintained relationships with 18 international factories, and navigated tariff changes and global shipping challenges. His two largest client relationships were with Academy Sports and Walmart.

    Earlier in his career, he served as a sales representative for BSN Savannah, where he cultivated, sustained, and generated new business opportunities in Coastal Georgia.

    Jacob is an Air Force veteran and received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Coaching from Kennesaw State University.

    Tennessee Tech University Police Conduct Active Aggressor Training

    On July 12,2025, the Tennessee Tech University Police Department conducted a comprehensive active aggressor training exercise on campus as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing campus safety and preparedness. Security officers from Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) were invited to participate in a joint training exercise to enhance interagency coordination and response capabilities in the event of an active threat. The scenario-based training emphasized rapid response tactics, communication, and collaboration among first responders. Officers engaged in hands-on drills designed to simulate real-world conditions and reinforce best practices for protecting lives during high-stress situations.

    “Our top priority is the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors,” said Chief of Police Fred Nichols.
