Jeff Brown from The Biz Foundry will be leading this session on how to make your idea come to life in the iMakerspace at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31. Business Model Canvas is a great tool for you to learn if your idea or product is viable, how to identify your customers, find any issues, and give yourself and your team the best chance for success!
The Eagle Works (4/6) and Idea Challenge (2/15) judging rubric is based off Business Model Canvas, so if you’re thinking about competing, this workshop is essential!

Spoken Word with Ashlee Haze
Join us at the Backdoor Playhouse on February 8th at 7 p.m. for a poetry performance by Ashlee Haze. Haze is the winner of a 2023 Silver Telly Award for original copywriting and voiceover. She has been a part of the Atlanta Poetry circuit for over a decade and has been writing for over 15 years. CITL: Maximizing iLearn Tools
Join the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning on Tuesday, January 30th at 11 AM, for an overview of the tool improvements in iLearn. Our Instructional Technologists will demonstrate new quiz tool features, the enhanced assignment experience, and ways to engage students through discussions and announcements. In addition, learn how to implement Creator+ interactive assessment tools to measure student understanding and create course checkpoints through hotspots. Course Evaluation Results with IARE – February 2
Get the most out of your course evaluation reports. The Office of Institutional Assessment, Research, & Effectiveness (IARE) will be hosting a session on interpreting your IDEA course evaluation reports. This session will review the components for the IDEA report and the types of scores and comparisons provided in the report. Instructors will gain a greater understanding of how the SLOs selected for their courses impact the summary evaluation score and the five key questions that IDEA course evaluations seek to answer. Join us for this online training session on Friday, February 2nd at 12PM.

Charlotte will be discussing her favorite creepy mystery, Gnarled Hollows, as well as about writing queer women’s fiction and fiction with diverse characters. AIAA NASA Virtual Guest Speaker
AIAA will be hosting Ms. Vanessa Aubuchon from NASA on 1/30 at 11 AM in Brown 236. She will be speaking on the “Third Wave of Aeronautics” and how technology NASA and partners are developing will affect people’s daily lives in the future. Particularly in regard to regional transportation, expedited deliveries via autonomous aerial vehicles, and even public and personal forms of aviation.

We need FIRST Lego League VOLUNTEERS!!
The FIRST Lego League Challenge is February 9-10, 2024 in the Memorial Gym. This year we are expecting 48 teams of middle school students to participate. That means we need a lot of volunteers in order to make it a successful and positive experience for all those involved. The kids are so happy and enthusiastic, it is contagious. Volunteer role descriptions can be found here.
