Non-Traditional Student Organization (NTSO) Meeting
Join the Non-Traditional Student Organization on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in Henderson 214.
Everyone is welcome! Non-traditional students are defined as being independent for financial aid purposes, having one or more dependents, being a single caregiver, not having a traditional high school diploma, being over 25 years of age, delaying post-secondary enrollment, attending school part-time, and/or being employed full-time. We encourage faculty and staff who are also taking classes, and graduate students who are on campus.

Don’t miss the LAST Co-op Meetup of the Fall 2022 semester on Tuesday, November 15, in Clement Hall 212, beginning at 11 a.m. New guidelines, which went into effect Fall 2022 for engineering student enrollment, will be shared.

Tech cybersecurity student from Japan finds leadership, internship opportunities
Rumi Ujiie’s educational story has many chapters.
The Tennessee Tech grad student from Japan grew interested in computer science after being introduced to web application development her sophomore year at Komazawa University in Tokyo. Her story as a Golden Eagle started in 2018 when she came her junior year as an exchange student.
“I feel like Tennessee Tech is so diverse,” she said. “The people are so nice, and there’s always help when you need it.”
Since returning to Tech to pursue her graduate studies in 2021, Ujiie has served as a teaching assistant, researcher for CEROC and president of the Computer Science Graduate Student Club. In early 2022, she received the Kandy Thevar International Graduate Student Scholarship, which is awarded annually to an international student in the College of Engineering. A new chapter in her story was written this past summer – an internship at AllianceBernstein in Nashville. Read more

Tech Farm Pumpkins & Gourds
Tech Farm has pumpkins and gourds available just in time to decorate for Thanksgiving.
We have assorted ornamental gourds, small white pumpkins, and orange pumpkins. Gourds and white pumpkins are 6 for $5 and the orange pumpkins are 2 for $5. We can accept cash or check payments.
The pumpkins and gourds are available for pickup in Oakley Hall 102.

SciFinder To Be Retired on Dec. 31 – Transition Your Account to SciFinder-n
Are you a SciFinder user with a current account? If so, it is time to transition to the new SciFinder-n interface!
SciFinder/SciFinder Scholar/SciFinder Classic will be retired on December 31, 2022. Going forward, you must use the new interface called SciFinder-n. The good news is that your existing login for SciFinder will continue to work in SciFinder-n. However, if you have any saved answer sets or search alerts set up in your SciFinder/SciFinder Scholar/SciFinder Classic account, you must migrate them to SciFinder-n by December 31, 2022. How to assist a distressed student
The Tennessee Tech University Counseling Center is dedicated to ensuring that faculty, staff, and students work and learn in an environment that is safe, respectful, and responsive to those in distress. This protocol document provides guidance to staff, faculty and students to identify and assist students in distress.
The Tennessee Tech University Counseling Center is committed to providing resources to ensure that a student in crisis is responded to quickly, responsibly and in an empathetic manner. A distressed student may also display disruptive behaviors, which may be covered by student conduct policy, and not be addressed directly by this protocol. This protocol is designed to provide guidance to the campus community. It defines how to:

TN Tech Educational Benefit Deadlines for Spring 2023
Educational Benefit Forms should be submitted to Human Resources by 4:30 PM on Thursday, December 15th to ensure your forms are processed before the Spring Semester begins. Forms will be processed in the order that they are received. Registration for employees begins Thursday, December 15th. Spring classes begin Thursday, January 12th. LAS Transition Informational Meeting – November 17th
LAS, will be having an interest meeting for our transition to Sigma Alpha on November 17th in Oakley Hall in room 124 at 11 am. Finger foods and door prizes will be provided. Sigma Alpha is a professional agriculture sorority that focuses on furthering the development of excellence in women pursuing careers in agriculture. We hope in transitioning to Sigma Alpha our members will have new connections with women in agriculture at TN Tech and across the nation. The objective of Sigma Alpha is “to promote its members in all facets of agriculture and to strengthen the bonds of friendship among them”. If you are interested we would love to have you join us!
