Last chance to enter Christmas Ornament Decorating Contest!
The Office of the President is hosting our inaugural Christmas ornament decorating contest! We are still accepting entries through Friday, December 5th. All departments on campus are encouraged to participate in the festivity. Please register here and note the ornament requirements. This year’s theme is gingerbread, and we want to see your creativity with gingerbread men, gingerbread houses, candy, icing, and any other fun supplies you can think of. Entries are not limited to baked gingerbread, but must not be store bought! The contest will be judged by an impartial group and first, second, and third place prizes will be named in Tech Times on Tuesday, December 16th.

Lighting the Quad 2025!
It is officially the holiday season when we all get together to enjoy Lighting the Quad! Don’t miss this tradition beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2. Join us for music, hot chocolate, t-shirts and more as we turn on the Historic Quad.
The inclement weather rain date will be Thursday, December 4.

Tennessee Tech Football vs. North Dakota – FCS Round 1 Playoff Game
Your OVC Football Champions will face North Dakota for Round 1 of the FCS Playoffs.
Kickoff is at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 29 and gates to Tucker open at 11 a.m.
Tailgating reservations are open now and will close Wednesday, November 26 at 4:30 p.m.
Students, entry to the game is free and you must SCAN your Eagle Card upon entrance. Tailgating is also free for students in the southwest corner of the tailgate park.

Free for All Ages at the Craft Center’s Holiday Festival!
Join us for free crafts during Holiday Festival this Saturday! We’ll have craft activities set up across our campus, including a kids’ section full of festive crafts like woven stars, beaded snowflakes, colorful collagraph prints, and a gingerbread village! Other free activities across campus will include clay ornaments, straw star weaving, and punched copper candle votives (15+). Stop by the lobby for a map and a schedule of activities, then drop by and get crafting! No registration necessary for free craft activities. Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Carson Alfaro and Jack Seger
The Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar this Friday will feature Carson Alfaro (TTU Mathematics/Physics/Mechanical Engineering) and Jack Seger (TTU Physics/Mathematics). Carson’s talk will describe his work designing A SiPM-Based Ultracold Neutron Depolarization Monitor, and Jack will describe his work Coupling a Quadrupole Beam Deflector to a Laser Ablation Ion Source at the TN Tech Ion Beam Lab. The seminar will be at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210, with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!

Snowflake Shake
No partner or experience required!! Tonight, November 20th, join the Swing Dance Club in a night of dancing for their last event of the semester! The event will be held in the dance studio (the basement) of the Memorial Gym. A beginner lesson will occur at 7:30pm, so get ready to learn this fun and easy historical dance! Dressing up in your favorite formal attire is encouraged but not required! Can’t wait to see you there!

English professors and students teach AI to high school students and teachers
Dr. Mari Ramler and Dr. Paulina Bounds with their students led a special session at the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention on November 14, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee. With over 5,000 convention participants, featured speakers Professors Ramler and Bounds stressed the importance of teaching digital literacy at Tennessee Tech University. Students taught AI tools such as ChatGPT, Sora, Wan, Pi, Copilot, and Gamma to over 200 students. Many thanks to TTU English instructor Joy McCaleb Poteet for this special invitation. Summer Research Experiences Worshop- Nov 25
The Student Members of the American Chemical Society invite you to our informational session on summer research opportunities on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. in SLH 126. Students that participated in summer programs this summer will discuss Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs), internships, and CISE grants. Topics covered will be how to find opportunities, how to apply, and experiences in various programs. Pizza and drinks will be served. Budget Revision Request Cutover
Academic units should submit budget revisions they would like to be processed before we move to Talon to the Provost’s Office by Thursday, December 4th. The last date that the Budget Office will accept budget revision requests from the Provost’s Office, and from any other administrative unit’s final approver, is Monday, December 8th. Any budget revision requests sent to the Budget Office starting Tuesday, December 9th, will not be processed in Banner, and will be returned to the requestor for them to initiate the request in Talon in January. The last General Budget Training for 2025 will be held on Monday, December 1st. Click Here to register for this session.
