Do you find that relationships can be hard and confusing? Are you interested in learning about healthy relationships? Come join our healthy relationships group to explore healthy relationships, healthy boundaries, ways to identify green & red flags in relationships, and more! The Counseling Center will be hosting this group every Tuesday, starting on February 07, 2023, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m in RUC 387. Contact Brittney at blphillips@tntech.edu to join. A minimum of three group participants is required for the group to start.

Laundry BINGO on Saturday
We’re going to have “loads” of fun at Laundry Bingo!
Saturday, January 21st, starting at 1:00 p.m. RHA and the TnTech Food Pantry will host BINGO in the Tech Pride Room.
Winners get a basket of laundry supplies to start the semester off on a “clean” slate.

Spring 2023 Career Readiness Programs have begun!
The Center for Career Development announces that Career Readiness Certification (workshops) are underway! We encourage faculty interested in inserting Career Readiness into their curricula to take advantage of these programs. The GOLD program is designed for Freshman and Sophomore students and introduces them to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) career ready competencies and the importance of building skills through campus activities, organizations and experiential education.
The PURPLE program is designed for Junior and Senior level students, assisting them with a deeper dive into how to translate their skills and experiences to employers. Greater focus is placed on where skills come from and what employers will want to discuss and see on resumes. In addition, PURPLE stresses areas such as making great impressions, succeeding when making presentations, attending job fairs and what to expect during personal interviews.
Faculty can encourage full certification or pick and choose select workshops for their classes. Join the ultimate frisbee club today!
The ultimate frisbee club is starting back up this coming Thursday the 19th! We will be playing for fun at 6PM until around 8 so stop by the intramural fields whenever you’re free. We hold open practices every Tuesday and Thursday at the same time and place so feel free to try Ultimate Frisbee this semester! The sport is tons of fun and has created a fun athletic outlet for many on the team. NO EXPERIENCE is required just be prepared for exercise.

Share your Wings Up Weekend events with the Crawford Alumni Center
Wings Up Weekend, a celebration of all things purple and gold, will be April 14-16 this year. The Crawford Alumni Center is compiling a list of events that will take place on campus and in the community that weekend, and this will be shared with alumni in the coming weeks. If your department is hosting anything that weekend (an athletics event, Backdoor Playhouse performance, reunion, art show, music recital, etc.), please let us know! And if you know of anything happening in the Upper Cumberland on those dates, we want to know that as well. This could be something at the Cookeville History Museum, a local park, a scavenger hunt, etc. Please email your events to alumnievents@tntech.edu, and we will help promote them!

Tech Faculty Seeking Graduate Students for Rural Reimagined Grant Project
Are you a graduate student looking for a funding opportunity, opportunities for certification, and to make a meaningful difference in the Upper Cumberland area?
A faculty team from the Departments of Sociology & Political Science, Curriculum & Instruction, and School of Human Ecology are seeking to hire 3 graduate students to work on a grant-funded project through Rural Reimagined that will bring Mental Health First Aid and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) trainings to community members throughout 4 Upper Cumberland counties.
In this role, graduate students will become trained ACEs instructors (and will be paid during their training); and will then conduct ACEs trainings with community members primarily in Clay, Jackson, Putnam, and White counties.
Employment will begin no later than February 1st, 2023 and end in June 2023. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour for 10 to 15 hours per week.

Renovation Temporary Locations for Multicultural Affairs/Black Cultural Center
For the spring semester, the Leona Lusk Officer Black Cultural Center and the Multicultural Affairs Office will be undergoing renovations. The office will be temporarily relocated to other spaces on the 2nd floor of the Roaden University Center.
The temporary locations will be RUC 241 (formerly the Noble Cody Suite) for the Multicultural Affairs Graduate Assistant and the Administrative Associate, Mrs. Corinne Johnson. This is the newly renovated student lounge area.
Charria Campbell, Director of Student Engagement & Intercultural Affairs, is in office 214 in the Center for Student Engagement Suite.
Dr. Rob Owens has moved to his permanent office location for the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, RUC 235.
