College of Graduate Studies Halloween Costume and Door Contests
The College of Graduate Studies invites you to participate in our first annual costume contest in the Derryberry Auditorium on Halloween at 12 pm! The costume contest is open to all of campus. Trophies will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners of each contest.
We will also be hosting our beloved annual door decorating contest this year! Go all out decorating your office door, the inside of your office, and hallway. Judging will take place on Halloween from 8:30am-12pm. Please RSVP to gradstudies@tntech.edu if your office plans on participating in the door contest.

Purple Career Readiness Workshop on October 3
Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday October 3, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop. Russ Coughenour, Director of the Center for Career Development, will share the best way to answer tough interview questions utilizing the STAR-L Method!

URECA Grant Applications for Spring 2024
The URECA (Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity) Mini Grants and Team Grants aim to support student-conducted, faculty-supervised research and creative activities during the academic year. Individual students may apply for Mini Grants, with a funding cap of $1,000. Team Grants, capped at $5,000, are available for groups collaborating on a joint project.
The application deadline for both Mini and Team Grants for the Spring 2024 semester is November 10 at 4:30 PM. The next deadline for Spring 2024 is set for January 26.

Did your high school health class use scare tactics to terrify you with the horrors of STDs and STIs? Does sexual health seem so taboo it’s impossible to even talk about? If so, let us help. Dr. Rachel Hall will discuss the best methods to stay safe from these diseases and infections, and how it’s actually really important to talk about them. We’ll discuss prevention, treatment, and how to get tested, so you can go back to enjoying your weekends without fear.

Please encourage students to attend the meetings held specifically for students. The next student town hall will be Oct. 4 at 2:30 p.m. in Henderson Hall 106B.

Upcoming Golden Helix 5k on Oct 14 at 9 a.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 14 the annual Golden Helix 5k will be held at Tennessee Technological University! This year the race will be starting at 9 a.m.at Stonecipher Lecture Hall. We invite all Tennessee Tech students and faculty to enter and run the race this year. You can register for the race via the website, https://www.goldenhelix5k.com/. All Tennessee Tech students can get $10 off the race registration by using the code “Awesome” at checkout. If you are a Tennessee Tech student, please bring your Tech ID to packet pickup. The guaranteed t-shirt deadline is 9 p.m. on Friday Sept. 29.
The race is organized by the Student Affiliates of the American Society of Biochemistry and Microbiology (ASBMB) with the assistance of the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) and the Chem-Med Club. Proceeds from the race benefit the ASBMB and SMACS clubs, as well as the Cookeville Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic, and the Tennessee Technological University Foundation Chemistry Scholarships. Delta Gamma will be hosting our annual Fall Philanthropy, Anchor Splash, on Oct 16th – 19th! Our theme this year is Dive in, Do Good, and the week will consist of Penny Drops, Flag Football, A Pageant Competition, Lip Sync Dances, and so much more! All donations go directly to our foundation which supports Tennessee School for the Blind in Nashville! Anyone can participate! General Complaint Reporting
In addition to the Fraud, Waste, or Abuse reporting form, Tennessee Tech also has a form on Internal Audit’s website for confidentially reporting complaints about accounting, internal control, auditing matters, code of conduct, discrimination/harassment/retaliation, and other issues that are NOT fraud, waste, or abuse. Complainants remain COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS to Internal Audit unless the last section of the form is completed. General complaints received on this form are routed to appropriate campus departments for follow-up.
The form can be submitted online or completed, printed, and mailed to Internal Audit, PO Box 5154, Cookeville, TN 38505.
