    Discounted student tickets to see the Bryan Symphony Orchestra in concert this Sunday, Oct. 11!

    The Bryan Symphony Orchestra will hold the first ticketed concert of its 63rd season on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. in Derryberry Hall Auditorium (*please note change of venue this season from Wattenbarger Auditorium). Tech students can purchase tickets for the special discounted price of $13.
    Our Oct. 11 concert is themed “Appalachian Connections.” Mandolin virtuoso Jeff Midkiff will join as guest performer on composer Jennifer Higdon’s “Mandolin Concerto,” followed by a performance of Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” and José Pablo Moncayo’s rousing “Huapango.”
    The Bryan Symphony Orchestra is led by Maestro Dan Allcott, professor of music at Tennessee Tech, and features many School of Music faculty performers and a select number of current Tech students. Purchase your tickets here and help support live orchestral music in the Upper Cumberland!
    When selecting tickets from the seating map, simply choose “student” at checkout to claim your discounted ticket price.

    Tennessee Tech Dining is excited to welcome Glenn Reynolds as our new Director of Dining Services! Glenn brings 35 years of food service experience, including 25 years in university dining. Starting his career as a dishwasher, he worked his way into leadership roles, including Executive Chef & Senior Director of Operations. Outside of work, Glenn enjoys fishing, the outdoors, & spending time with his wife, Brenda, & their five daughters. Welcome Glenn & Wings Up!

Bring your own roach or race one provided by the Archives. Watergate and Li’l P, the Biology Department’s inaugural champion, were both champions caught right here on Tech’s campus. Coincidence?     Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Jack Seger, TTU Physics and Mathematics

    This Friday at the Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar, Physics and Mathematics major Jack Seger will describe progress with his continuing work in the Tennessee Tech Ion Beam Lab. His talk Source Section Development and Ion Source Testing at the Tennessee Tech Ion Beam Lab will focus on studying two candidate systems for generating the ions that are to be accelerated. The seminar will be at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210 with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are encouraged to attend!

The Office of Institutional Assessment, Research, & Effectiveness is hosting an online session about the IDEA course evaluation tool and the role of instructors in selecting the Student Learning Objectives most appropriate for their courses. When instructors select the most relevant objectives for their courses, IDEA reports provide a better evaluation for what occurs in the classroom.
