Daily CSB Black History Month Trivia- Feb. 2 question
Every weekday in February the Commission on the Status of Blacks will be featuring a trivia question for students- each day’s correct answers will be entered into a daily drawing for a modest prize, with all daily winners entered into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the month. Consider participating in the 17th Annual Research and Creative Inquiry Day
The 17th Annual Research and Creative Inquiry Day event is planned to be in person at the Hooper Eblen on Wed. and Thurs., April 20 and 21 (if the event needs to be virtual, participants will be informed by the end of February). The event is designed to promote and provide a venue for presenting student research and creative inquiry and is open to undergraduate/graduate students from all departments.
Students must submit an abstract (1500 characters) via the abstract submission link (students may have to log into Tech Express with their TTU credentials) by 11:59 p.m., Wed. March 9. No abstracts will be accepted after this date. Each submitted abstract must be developed into a poster (or paper for those in the English Department) to be displayed during the event. Poster files will need to be printed and mounted to a trifold poster board.

Consider serving as a judge for 17th Annual Research and Creative Inquiry Day

We need judges from across campus to evaluate the students’ work.
Poster judging will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 20. Students are invited to be available to discuss posters, and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

We want people from all sorts of backgrounds; Nursing, chemistry, engineering, or any other major you can think of are all welcome to join in on the fun. Tennessee Tech Today – Episode 21
In this edition, Tech president Phil Oldham discusses his recent meeting as a member of the NCAA Board of Governors overseeing collegiate athletics. He also touches on local issues including the renovation of Tucker Stadium and the prospect of new interstate gateway signage.
The Oakley STEM center not only provides teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to college students, but also provides events for young children that haven’t even started school yet.

Eagle Works Meet Your Team event – Free Food!
Get ready for this year’s Eagle Works Shark Tank-style competition by coming to our “Find Your Team” event! Do you already have an idea but need some teammates to complement your skills? Get a chance to share your idea and find those other students! Do you want to join an already existing team? Hear ideas and share your expertise!
Join us Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. in the iMakerspace to get a refresher on Eagle Works and then get a chance to network with other students and ask any questions you have to the Eagle Works staff. Food will be provided (first come, first served).
The iMakerspace is on the third floor of Volpe Library. Use the north staircase (past the MyTECH helpdesk) to access. If you need an accessible entrance, please email Andrea at akruszka@tntech.edu before 4:30 p.m. that day to arrange.

Love Potion Pre-sale Fundraiser Jan 31-Feb 7
Are you looking for an easy and convenient Valentine’s gift or a sweet way to let someone know you’re thinking about them? How about a tube of Love Potion #9? The Student Members of the American Chemical Society will be pre-selling Love Potions (plastic test tubes filled with M&Ms) through our Square Store (https://smacsttu.square.site/) from Jan 31 – Feb 7. Student Nurses’ Association Meeting Tuesday!
The first Student Nurses’ Association meeting of the spring semester will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 11 am in Bell Hall 232. We will also have PIZZA!
If you aren’t a member, don’t worry- you can become a member at this meeting. SNA is a great way to meet other Nursing students, become involved in your community, learn more about the nursing profession, and build your resume!
At this meeting, we will discuss what SNA is, our plans for the semester, and vote on a fundraiser item!

Technology Tools for Group Work
Join the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) as we discuss the different technology tools available to help you implement group work effectively in your courses. We will look at group collaboration using Office 365 and other technology tools. We will also learn how to best use OneDrive, Online Doc sharing, Yammer, Kaizala, and other platforms when working within groups, as well as for your course as a whole. Gold Career Readiness Workshop on Feb. 1: Interview Skills for Interns & Co-ops
Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, Feb. 1, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Gold Career Readiness Workshop. A staff member from the Center for Career Development will guide you through the top skills that you need for a successful internship or Co-op interview.
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.
