Call to Faculty: Rural Reimagined Faculty Recognition Fall 2021
As the Fall 2021 semester begins, Rural Reimagined wants to recognize all TN Tech faculty who have or are currently working on rural-related projects, coursework, or research. If you have received a rural-related grant, are working on any rural-related proposals or research, or plan to have rural-related objectives in your coursework, please email Kinsey Potter at sw-kbpotter@tntech.edu. We want to recognize your work in supporting the success of our surrounding rural areas. Construction South of West Stadium – August 24-26
Underground utility work will take place south of West Stadium in the Northwest corner of the Library parking lot from Tuesday -Thursday (August 24-26). A small section of the parking lot will be used to allow for construction as well as for a path of travel around the area of construction.

Alpha Phi Omega Info Meetings This Week
Alpha Phi Omega invites any students interested in community service to join us this week to learn more about our organization. We’re hosting informational meetings in:
Monday, Aug 23 — 6 pm — LSC 1211
Tuesday, Aug 24 — 11 am — TJ Farr 106Alpha Phi Omega is the world’s largest international community service organization with over 350 chapters in the United States, Canada and the Philippines. We have over 500,000 alumni that have planned millions of hours of service projects, including disaster relief, blood drives, donation drives, and more!
Wed are currently expanding and adding a new chapter here at Tennessee Tech University. We would love to have any interested student join us.

Budget Office – September Training Sessions
Budget Office training sessions for September have been scheduled if anyone is interested! Below is a brief description of each training:
General Budget Training: This training gives a big picture overview of the university budget, Banner screens, and budget revisions. This training is required for signature authority on budget revisions.
Budget Banner Screen Training: This training focuses specifically on the Banner screens frequently used for budgeting purposes. This is an optional training course.
Budget Shadow System Training: This training focuses specifically on our Shadow System Template. This is an optional training course.

Student Ambassadors Needed
Attention all Education (Undergraduate and Graduate) and STEM (Undergraduate) majors! For this program, you will develop and record lesson plans for Tennessee teachers to use in their classrooms. You will also answer K–12 students’ questions in real-time when you host these recorded classes virtually through a Google Meets or Zoom platform. You will be paid $12/hour (except during the two-day Tennessee STEM Innovation Network summit), attend meetings, and gain valuable experience while building relationships that could last a lifetime when you work with us in the ADVISE program. We hope you will consider filling out the application and become an Ambassador!

It’s carnival time! The College of Interdisciplinary Studies welcomes you to the Fall 2021 semester at Tennessee Tech University. We will have hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and free school supplies! First come, first serve on Wednesday, August 25th, starting at noon outside the Southwest Hall building (by the famous goldfish pond) on the corner of Stadium Drive and 10th Street (please ignore the construction). Meet our faculty and staff and enjoy a game of cornhole!

Are you interested in Co-op? Need to find out how YOU can be Co-op eligible? Attend this Co-op Meetup on Tuesday, Aug. 24, in Clement Hall 212 at 11 a.m. Any student interested in accepting a Cooperative Education position with an employer MUST attend a Co-op Meetup.
The Co-op Meetup will explain the eligibility guidelines for enrolling in the Cooperative Education Program, which went into effect July 1, 2019 for all students. Pre-registration to enroll in the Co-op Program is now required and attending a Co-op Meetup is your first step! Project AWAKEN is Ending
Project AWAKEN’s Office of Violence Against Women grant comes to an end Tuesday, August 31, 2021. As such, Project AWAKEN will no longer be on campus to provide events, trainings nor advocacy services. It has been a pleasure to serve the Tech campus!
If you want to stay involved in addressing power-based violence on campus and in the community, the Peer Empower Program (PEP) is a great way to get involved. Contact Nicole Cook (nacook@tntech.edu) to learn more. If you or someone you care about needs support services, help is available 24/7 through Genesis House (1-800-707-5197). Students can also seek help from the Counseling Center at (931) 372-3331.
It’s on all of us to continue to support survivors and to stop power-based violence from happening in our community!

Employer Spotlight featuring Tennessee Highway Patrol this Monday and Friday!
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is currently accepting applications for the next cadet class, which starts in January 2022. If you are looking for a career that affords you opportunities to achieve your goals, then the THP is where you belong! The THP is a multi-faceted, full- service, statewide law enforcement agency that has numerous divisions.
If you are interested in a career as a Tennessee State Trooper, you must apply online. Applications are being accepted now through Tuesday, August 31. Individuals interested in applying must be at least 21-years-old at the time of application, a U.S. citizen, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
