C&S Staff Day 2026 will be here soon! Join us on Friday, August 7th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in Stonecipher Lecture Hall. Register NOW to guarantee your free C&S Staff Day 2026 tote bag. The Staff Advisory Committee has planned a half day retreat with guest speakers, vendors, and prizes. Breakfast, snacks, and drinks will be provided. The committee will be taking donations for the Michelle Huddleston Memorial Food Pantry as well, you can review what they accept here for ideas. OCM Updates Service Rates for FY 2026–27
To continue providing high-quality communications, marketing and printing services while meeting increasing demand across campus, the Office of Communications & Marketing has implemented modest updates to its service pricing for fiscal year 2026–27. Pricing can be found at https://www.tntech.edu/ocm/service-pricing.php. The updated pricing took effect on July 1, 2026, and reflects OCM’s ongoing commitment to providing timely, high-quality support for the university’s strategic priorities while maintaining competitive and affordable service rates.

Interim HR Generalist Support Update
We’re sharing an interim update on HR Generalist support as Maggie Worley leaves the University on July 10, we wish her the best. Beginning July 13, Jennifer Zimmerman will support recruiting, onboarding, and employment questions for full-time, permanent employees across all colleges. Weeklong Workshop: Pottery Boot Camp with Audry Deal-McEver on July 19-24
This beginner to advanced level workshop teaches students the technical skills needed to work on the pottery wheel. Beginners will learn the introductory basics needed to create cups, mugs, bowls, vases, and more. Advanced students will get individual guidance to help reinforce their foundational knowledge and will be guided through more advanced techniques (such as “thrown and altered” shapes and composite/assembled forms). Class time will include demonstrations, guided practice time, and one-on-one help. Note: Due to time constraints, students will take home a range of finished pots and “works in progress.”

Submitting Talon purchase requisitions can resume
The Talon Purchasing Forms and Payment Forms have been reinstated. If you have Purchase Requisitions that need to be submitted you can now submit those in Talon. However the punchout catalogs are still down for maintenance. If you have any questions you can contact the Purchasing and Contracts Office.

Talon Procurement Requester Training
Talon Procurement Requester Training is scheduled for July 15, 2026 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. This class covers the basics of how to create, edit, and withdraw purchase requisitions, view the purchase order lifecycle, create receipts, change orders, paying an invoice against a purchase agreement, using a payment request form, and creating contract requests.

Construction and Maintenance Related Campus Impacts
With the ACME Engineering Building construction beginning, Tennessee Tech will have four major capital projects underway simultaneously. This represents an unprecedented level of construction activity on campus not seen since the sixties. This volume of work reflects both the scale of recent investments into the campus and the substantial coordination required by university staff, designers, contractors, and stakeholders to successfully deliver these projects.
Please be aware of several impacts to traffic patterns on campus are depicted in the attached image.

Eagle Pay and Eagle Online Registration Unavailable June 30th – July 1st
Eagle Pay Payment Site and Eagle Online Registration will be unavailable beginning June 30th at 4:30 PM. It will be available July 1, 2026 once fiscal year-end processes are completed.

Be a vendor at C&S Staff Day 2026!
The Staff Advisory Committee to the President is looking for departments interested in joining us at our 6th annual Clerical and Support Staff Day on Friday, August 7, 2026!
Departments can set up a vendor table where attendees can learn more about resources on campus. C&S Staff Day 2026 will be in Stonecipher Lecture Hall and doors will open at 7:30am for set up with registration starting at 8am. Attendees can browse vendor booths until the 8:45 welcome and during breaks. The event ends around 12 pm. Tables and chairs will be provided for vendors, we just need to know how many seats you’ll need. Tablecloths and and tabletop decorations/items can be from your department, feel free to use your creativity!
