Step Up! Bystander Intervention Training
The Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness will be hosting a bystander intervention training workshop on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 11am-12 noon in RUC 387 Eagle Resource Room. The training will be focused on the Step Up! Model of raising awareness on how to help others when responding to problems or concerns. Joyful Movement Festival for Positive Body Image Awareness Day 2025
Please join the Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness for the Joyful Movement Festival on Monday, February 24 in honor of the campus Positive Body Image Awareness Day. There will be morning relaxation music in RUC 387 from 10:30-11am, YOGA in RUC 101 from 12:30-1pm, Mindfulness activities in RUC 101 from 1pm-1:30pm. Internship Carnival Sees Strong Student and Employer Engagement
On January 28, Professional Readiness and Leadership (PRL) hosted the 2nd Annual Internship Carnival. The event saw strong participation, with over 20 companies who attended. There were more than 450 interactions between employers and students seeking networking and internship opportunities. The success of the Internship Carnival underscores the College of Business’s commitment to career readiness and professional development.

Family Craft Studio at the Appalachian Center for Craft
Family Craft Studio starts this Saturday, February 22 at the Craft Center! This new intergenerational program invites kids and their grownups to craft and learn together. Each month will feature a different project in fibers, glass, wood, metals or clay, and participants are invited to drop-in between 9am and noon. This program is free and open to the public for ages 6+. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Visit tntech.edu/familycraft for more info!

Engineering Quad Parking Lot – Traffic Pattern Modification
Due to several concerns being brought to Facilities attention by faculty and staff, on Monday, February 24th, the traffic pattern at the engineering quad parking lot will be modified. The area area currently allows for 2-way traffic at both entrances, but this will be changed to a one-way traffic pattern, with the East end being the entrance, and the West end being the exit. Additionally, 4 “Facilities” parking spots will be added to further reduce congestion at the entrance and exit.

The Elinor Ross CDF Freedom School, a program of Tech’s College of Education & Human Sciences, is accepting applications for paid summer internships from students of all majors. The ERFS is a six-week literacy and cultural enrichment experience for Putnam Co. kids, grades 1-5. From the arts, sciences, reading/literature, to field trips, and so much more – have an impactful summer and get paid for it!

Cattywampus Puppet Council Reception
Join us at the Joan Derryberry Art Gallery on February 20th at 11am for the closing reception of the Cattwampus Puppet Council Exhibtion. Cattywampus Puppet Council is a 501c3 community-based arts organization and an intergenerational collective of artists, performers, teachers, musicians, and community organizers. Over the past 10 years, they have been bringing innovative theater, youth programming, people-powered parades, and giant puppet magic to communities across East Tennessee and the South, collaborating with a wide range of organizations, artists, and institutions including: the Knoxville Museum of Art, UT School of Art, the Knox County Public Library, Big Ears Festival, the Johnson City Public Art Committee, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and most recently Yo-Yo Ma.
