Parlez-vous français? French Conversation Hour on Monday, September 13
Come and practice your French on Monday, September 13, from 6-7 pm at Au Bon Pain in the library. Organized and run by students, French Conversation Hour is open to all speakers of French, regardless of level, and uses games and activities to help everyone get involved. The atmosphere is fun, laid-back, and designed to help you feel as comfortable as possible speaking French.

Gold Career Readiness Workshop on Sept. 9: Writing my First Resume
Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Sept. 9, beginning at 11 a.m. in Clement Hall 212 for the first Gold Career Readiness Workshop of the semester! A staff member from the Center for Career Development will be describing the characteristics of a strong, foundational resume.
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.
To attend virtually, access the TEAMS link in Handshake Events. To receive credit for attending, you must log in with your Tennessee Tech email, participate if asked to during the workshop and be present for at least 80% of the presentation, and make sure that your camera is turned on during your attendance.

Alpha Phi Omega Movie and Service Night
Alpha Phi Omega invites students to join us for a movie night on Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 pm, in the Lab Science Commons, 1211 (adjacent to Einstein Bagels). We’ll be discussing the planning of a relief drive service project to collect necessary household goods and other supplies for victims of the recent storms impacting middle and western Tennessee (Waverly). We also are planning on watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail as well. We’d love to see you there!
Alpha Phi Omega is the nation’s largest community service organization with chapters at almost 400 colleges and universities in North America and the Philippines. We’re a professional fraternity — open to men and women. The organization is dedicated towards developing leadership skills through the planning and organization of community service projects and fostering lifelong friendships in its members that lasts well beyond graduation. Popsicles with Engineers Without Boarders & TTU Water Pros!!
TTU Water Professionals will be hosting their first joint meeting of the semester this Thursday, September 9th during dead hour in Prescott Room 330.

Comedian Katie Kusiciel Live Stand Up Comedy Show
Get ready to laugh during a free stand-up comedy show featuring Katie Kusiciel. Her animated comedy has been featured on Buzzfeed and seen at San Diego Comedy Festival, The Big Pine Comedy Festival, Burbank Comedy Festival, and can be heard on the popular podcast “Mostly True Opinions” featured on iHeartRadio. This show will be on Thursday, September 9 at 7:00 PM in the Derryberry Hall Auditorium. This show is presented by your SGA SOLO Fund and is free for all students. New Engineering Building Groundbreaking Sept. 10th
The campus community is invited to celebrate with the College of Engineering during a groundbreaking ceremony on September 10th at 1:30 p.m. in Sherlock Park to kick off its first new engineering facility in 50 years. The 100,000-square-foot engineering building will be a showcase for our flagship college, fusing innovation, smart building technology, and a living water laboratory to foster cross-disciplinary learning while inspiring new generations of engineers. Co-op Meetup CPT on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. in RUC Multipurpose Room
Are you interested in Co-op? Need to find out how YOU can be Co-op eligible? Attend this Co-op Meetup on Wednesday, Sept. 8, in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) at 11 a.m. Any student interested in accepting a Cooperative Education position with an employer MUST attend a Co-op Meetup.
This event has a special focus on international students/CPT, but it is still beneficial for ANY student who wants to meet the requirements of the Cooperative Education program.
The Co-op Meetup will explain the eligibility guidelines for enrolling in the Cooperative Education Program, which went into effect July 1, 2019 for all students. Pre-registration to enroll in the Co-op Program is now required and attending a Co-op Meetup is your first step! Feel Good Fridays
The counseling center will be offering light therapy or phototherapy sessions for students on a first come and first serve basis beginning in September through November 26 in the Eagle Resource Room (adjacent to the counseling center). These sessions are available from 9:00am-11:00am on Fridays only. Research suggests that light therapy may be effective in relieving insomnia, easing seasonal affective disorder symptoms, and improving mood. Open Mic Event with P.W. Covington at the Backdoor Playhouse
