The Scholastic Research Award, presented by the University Research Advisory Committee, is a university-wide award for a single, significant and innovative work produced, published, performed or exhibited from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2022. Two awards, of $1,500 each, are available each year, with one reserved for tenure-track faculty and the other reserved for tenured faculty. Applications must be submitted electronically in a single PDF to jdicey@tntech.edu or before April 7, 2023. FREE Medical, Dental, & Vision Clinic on March 18th & 19th!
The Upper Cumberland Community Host Group is honored to announce that we have partnered with Remote Area Medical to bring a FREE Medical, Dental, & Vision Clinic to Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland region again! The UCCHG is a group of Tennessee Tech students, one of three student led host groups in the nation, who work throughout the year to fund and run this clinic. The RAM Clinic will take place on March 18th and 19th (starting at 6:00 a.m.) at Cookeville High School. If you, or anyone you know, is in need of these services, feel free to attend. It is completely free, no insurance or ID required, and is on a first come, first served basis. There are a variety of services offered by some of the best professionals in the nation! Learn how to make crêpes at a Crêpe Workshop!
Avant-Garde’s Crêpe Workshops are back, with three possible evenings to choose from. Sign up for a workshop on either Tuesday, March 28, Wednesday, March 29, or Thursday, March 30.
Price is $10 for students, and $25 for non-students and includes hands-on instructions for making crêpes using three different methods, a variety of savory and sweet fillings, and a recipe book that includes the history of crêpes. Participants will make their own crêpes, fill them, and eat them (yum!).
All workshops run from 6:30-8 and meet in Oakley Hall 114. Due to the limited number of spaces reservations are required, and no tickets will be available at the door. Purchase your tickets by clicking on this link:

Call for EDGE QEP course grant applications
EDGE: Enhanced Discovery through Guided Exploration is TTU’s Quality Enhancement Plan. The EDGE Creative Inquiry Course Grant Program offers Faculty the opportunity to redesign undergraduate or graduate courses to include creative inquiry projects and assignments. In addition, the EDGE rubric is now an optional method of assessing student work – faculty may propose another method for assessment. The limit on individual course grants is $5,000. The limit on multiple-course curriculum grants is $15,000. April 14 is the application deadline.

Submit Your A23 & F23 Course Material Requests To The Bookstore
We wanted to let professors and department administrators know that AIP (adoption information portal) is live for the Summer and Fall 2023 terms, meaning you can submit your course materials for both Summer and Fall. If you are using the same material for both semesters, please make sure to put in an adoption for both terms! Course material information needs to be submitted by March 24th. Students begin Advisement on March 27th and Registering for classes on April 3rd. Per HEOA (Higher Education Opportunities Act) students should have access to the price of course materials when they begin registering for classes.

Tech women’s basketball to host Selection Show Party Sunday at Midtown Social
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Join the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team on Sunday, March 12, at Midtown Social (565 South Jefferson Avenue) for the Golden Eagles’ Selection Show Watch Party.
Doors open and a celebratory line-up will be held at 5:30 p.m., while the selection show will begin at 7 p.m.
Music will be performed at the event by DJ $even Productions.
Championship T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event, then will be available through the Eblen Center ticket office or through TTUsports.com.
It is the first trip for the Golden Eagles to the NCAA Tournament since the 1999-2000 season and 11th overall. Tech earned the Ohio Valley Conference’s automatic bid after defeating Little Rock 54-46 in the OVC Basketball Championships on Saturday in Evansville, Ind.

Graduate Chemistry Club Bake Sale March 9
The Graduate Chemistry Club (GCC) will be holding a bake sale in the south atrium of the Laboratory Science Commons on Thursday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a variety of baked goods available and we accept cash and card. Funds raised go toward helping support registration expenses for graduate students to present their research at national conferences. Bethany Kelsey Begins Internship with Rural Reimagined
Rural Reimagined (RR) is excited to welcome our newest academic intern Bethany Kelsey for the Spring 2023 semester. Bethany is a senior here at Tennessee Tech studying Professional and Technical Communication (PTC) that is graduating in December. When asked why she selected Rural Reimagined, Bethany said that helping others is essential to her “because it [RR] consistently goes above and beyond expectations to improve rural living by leveraging science, technology, and entrepreneurship.” Bethany hopes to assist and support businesses and entrepreneurs in the surrounding rural communities by applying her “understanding of technical communication and professional development while gaining knowledge and skills thanks to the connections made possible by this internship.” We encourage other students to get involved with their rural community! WEST Workshop: Engineering Writing
Working on an Engineering project that involves writing a report or project narrative? Have you mastered design and testing, but aren’t quite sure how to communicate your results? WEST is here to help you! The Writing Excellence Studio at Tech will be hosting a workshop on writing conventions in Engineering disciplines. We will discuss structure and content, formatting, citation, and other common practices involved in writing by and for engineers or engineering courses. Come join us during Dead Hour on Tuesday, March 21, in Henderson Hall 304B. The workshop is open to all students, regardless of what stage you’re at in your writing.
