Grant Opportunity-Study Abroad Program Development
The U.S. Department of State’s IDEAS Program is pleased to announce the launch of its 2025 IDEAS grant competition, which assists U.S. colleges and universities in creating and/or expanding their study abroad programming in support of U.S. foreign policy goals. The IDEAS (Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students) Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in its implementation by World Learning. The 2025 grant competition will award approximately 35 grants of up to $35,000 each to accredited colleges and universities. An informational webinar will be given on October 22, 2024. Mad Science Mania: A Hauntingly Fun Exploration of STEM Fab Friday

Get ready for a spook-tacular day filled with hands-on experiments, eerie science demonstrations, and creepy-cool STEM activities. This family-friendly event promises thrills, chills, and plenty of mad science fun. Come in costume (Not Scary), and let’s explore the wonderful world of STEM together!

HISTORY CLUB BOOK SALE IN THE CENTENNIAL PLAZA TODAY & TOMORROW
Don’t miss the best deal on campus! The History Club is hosting their annual book sale today and tomorrow (Oct 22-23) from 9am-4pm in Centennial Plaza. Paperbacks are $1 and hardbacks are $3. We also have tote bags, buttons, and stickers this year to add to the sale! Grab something on your way to class, support your campus clubs, and come out to meet us!

HEALTH (S)CARES Mental Health Awareness Fundraiser
Please join us for a mental health awareness event to fundraise for the Remote Area Medical Clinic. The clinic has provided free healthcare services to those in need through the operation of pop-up clinics around the country.
Our event will take place in the Plaza on Oct 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. during dead hour. There will be games, treats, and Halloween themed activities! Forget the tricks, give your mind a treat!

Guest Speaker Dr. Amrita Chakrabarti Myers
Dr. Chakrabarti Myers will speak on campus about the Black female experience in the US on Friday, October 25th at 7 p.m. in Stonecipher 113. There will be a book signing and reception following in Stonecipher 260.
She is a researcher, writer, educator, and community-based organizer. No matter what hat she’s wearing, though, she’s interested in truth, justice, equity, and restoration. Whether it’s in the classroom, the community, between two covers, with city governments, or at corporate tables, her vision is to help dismantle the unjust systems holding us all back.
