Graduate Education Week April 1-5
In order to recognize and honor all graduate students in the state of Tennessee, Governor Bill Lee has proclaimed that Graduate Education Week will be held on April 1-5, 2024. To honor our TTU graduate students, the College of Graduate Studies invites all graduate students to attend our exciting events that will be held on the 2nd floor of Derryberry Hall during that week. Events include coffee and donuts at 9:00 AM on the 2nd; Pizza and drinks at 11:00 on the 3rd; and Popcorn and Candy Salad at 1:30 on the 4th.

Gold Career Readiness PART TWO Workshop on March 27!
Join the Center for Career Development on Wednesday, March 27, at 3 pm in Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room for this Gold Career Readiness PART TWO Workshop! This workshop features Regions Bank, who will provide insight on how to create a successful budget while in college!
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts toward Part Two of the Gold Career Readiness application. Bring your Eagle Card with you for attendance credit.

Equestrian Team Spring Bake Sale
Calling all sweet tooths and snack lovers! Spring is here and it’s time to celebrate with a bake sale!
Stop by the table on March 26th between 10am and 4pm. The table will be located on Centennial Plaza with a secondary location in the RUC Lobby in case of inclement weather.
All proceeds go to support the TN Tech Equestrian Team in representing the University in the sport of horsemanship.

Judges are Needed for the 19th Annual Student Research and Creative Inquiry Day
We have well over 200 abstracts submitted for this year’s Student Research and Creative Inquiry Day and need faculty volunteers to evaluate the students’ work. Judging takes place April 17 from 4:00-6:00 pm in Memorial Gym on the Main Quad. Students are not required to be present during the evaluation, though they’re most certainly welcomed. Line Dance Class on March 25th!
Grab your boots and come line dance on Monday, March 25th at 6:30 p.m. in Room 212 of the Fitness Center! This event is being hosted by students in Business 4520 to raise money for the mentorship program, StepUp Women’s Network. Free Eclipse Glasses Distribution at the Oakley STEM Center for Tennessee Tech
We are excited to announce an opportunity for Tennessee Tech faculty and staff to obtain free eclipse glasses in preparation for the upcoming April 8, 2024, eclipse. This event promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime celestial spectacle, and we don’t want anyone to miss out on the chance to safely witness it.
Free eclipse glasses are available exclusively for Tennessee Tech students, faculty, and staff.
Location: Oakley STEM Center, RMH 101
Distribution Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Glasses are limited to 5 per person and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To secure your eclipse glasses, simply visit the STEM Center front desk during the designated distribution hours. Please note that glasses are available while supplies last, so we encourage you to pick them up at your earliest convenience. -
College of Education Joins the Lead in Literacy Network
Tech has accepted an invitation to participate as one of four Educator Preparation Programs in the Lead in Literacy Network.
The group is convened by the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE), a non-partisan, non-profit organization with a mission to bring about transformative change in the Tennessee education system.
“The College of Education has historically championed literacy and reading comprehension skills in all academic disciplines in our educator preparation programs,” said Lisa Zagumny, Dean. “Our dedicated faculty excel in creating meaningful and research-based experiences for emerging educators.”
