Join Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, Wednesday October 7th at 7pm in Prescott 215, for a viewing of the hit documentary “Behind the Curve.” Hear the argument, weigh the data, and come to your own conclusion. Individual bags of Chips and Cans of soda will be provided to maintain Covid-19 Standards. We hope to see you there for a fun afternoon. Information on our current projects and what we are as a club will also be provided. Including our rocket academy, in which we walk new members through there NAR level one flight. Also, our prep flight of our eventual circumnavigation flight of a weather balloon will be discussed briefly at this meeting.

Whitney will begin her presentation with details about publishing her novella series, as well as her travel blog, which was part of the inspiration for the series. Following the presentation, Whitney will be available to answer questions you might have about her self-publishing and entrepreneurship experiences. This Thursday, October 1 during dead hour in Brown 236 and 237, ASME will be hosting Amy Elliot as a guest speaker. Starring in 50+ episodes of the Science Channel’s “Outrageous Acts of Science” and runner up on The Discovery Channel’s “The Big Brain Theory,” Dr. Amy Elliott is a scientist on-camera and off. By day, Dr. Elliott is a research staff at Oak Ridge National Laboratory specializing in inkjet and photopolymer-based additive manufacturing technology. Her path to a science started with a passion for engineering in the TTU ME program followed by a revelation about what research was in her second year of grad school. Learn the “10 Reasons to 3D Print Something” as well as Dr. Elliott’s journey to a career in science with lots of fun pit stops (literally and figuratively) along the way.
Join the Data Science League for their second meeting of Fall 2020 with guest speaker Dr. Edwin Baidoo. Learn how Dr. Baidoo uses Data Science to answer business questions and watch a demonstration on determining which products are “joined together” using R. Dr. Baidoo will also introduce attendees to the Business Analytics program where students learn how to utilize common tools and analytics techniques to solve business problems.
