Warp 1 workshop set for April 23
Are you incorporating machine learning into your research? Are you prepared – or preparing students – for the next generation of AI and machine learning jobs?
A workshop for Tennessee Tech’s new Warp 1 high-performance computing cluster will be held April 23 at 10:20 a.m. in Clement 212. Attendees will use hands-on ML examples and learn how to access the cluster, load datasets, run ML code and use its graphical interface with Jupiter Notebooks.
Associate Professor of Computer Science Mike Rogers is the principal investigator of the National Science Foundation grant: “CC (Campus Cyberinfrastructure) Compute.” Tech’s Center for Energy Systems Research and Information Technology Services are also involved in managing the project.

Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar
This Friday’s seminar will feature Mateo Cacheiro (TTU Physics), Luke Chapman (TTU Electrical Engineering), Emma Krebs, (TTU Physics/Mathematics), and Katherine Smith (Cookeville High School) who will each describe some of their recent research work. Titles and abstracts for the presentations can be found here. The seminar will be at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210 with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. Chemical Engineering Research Exhibition
Tntech Chemical Engineering Graduate Research Association (CEGRA) would like to invite the campus community to the 1st edition of its Research Exhibition.
The event would include 2 parts talk symposium on the technologies Chemical Engineering graduate students are working on. Also, there would be a poster presentation session where attendees can inquire about the several innovative research going on in the department.

The Scholastic Research Award, presented by the University Research Advisory Committee, is a university-wide award for a single, significant and innovative work produced, published, performed or exhibited from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2023. Two awards, of $1,500 each, are available each year, with one reserved for tenure-track faculty and the other reserved for tenured faculty. Applications must be submitted electronically in a single PDF to jdicey@tntech.edu on or before April 5, 2024.
