The Professional Readiness and Leadership Center in the College of Business wishes to recognize this year’s winners of the Career Ready Advocate Award. This award is given to the faculty, staff, and campus community members who have had an impact in the development of young professionals. The faculty award for 2022 goes to Joohun “Justin” Lee of the Economics, Finance, and Marketing Department. The staff award for 2022 goes to Sherrie Cannon of the College of Business Student Success Center. As for the campus community award, Emma Cannon from First National Bank of Tennessee is recognized. iLearn Semester Wrap-Up
Join the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning on Tuesday, April 26th at 11 am for a workshop session focused on preparing your iLearn courses for the next semester. In this session, Kelvin and Lauren will discuss the exact procedures for adding, deleting, and modifying content topics, quizzes, assignments, discussions, and other iLearn components. The process of copying, exporting, and importing entire courses and between semesters is also explained in detail. Lastly, they will elaborates on the steps for selecting specific items to be copied as well as how to manage or offset start, end, and due dates. 2022 Orientation Overview Meetings
The Office of New Student & Family Programs will be hosting open orientation overview meetings today (4/25) and tomorrow (4/26). These meetings will review information about the SOAR & Transfer Orientation programs for this summer.
We strongly encourage attending one of these meetings if you coordinate orientation efforts for your department/unit, you are new to your department/unit, or you feel that you need a refresher about the university’s orientation programs. Both meetings will cover the same information, so you can choose which date/time fits your schedule best!

Apply for Washington, D.C., Congressional Internship
The Department of Sociology and Political Science announces an internship opportunity coordinated with Congressman John Rose (TN-06). Rose has internships this summer for Tech students who desire to work in his Washington, D.C. congressional office.
This full-time internship is paid a stipend of $1,800 per month and will begin by the end of May.

SOLO Presents: Emmanuel Agbeli with Ghanaian Drum Ensemble Saturday Apr 23
Emmanuel Agbeli is a renowned Master Drummer from Ghana, West Africa, where he is the Director of Dagbe Cultural Institute and Arts Center. He is known as one of the foremost representatives of Ewe drumming, dancing, and cultural history. He joins Tennessee Tech’s Ghanaian Drumming Ensemble for a performance of traditional music and dance. 6PM, Derryberry Auditorium, Tennessee Tech. Free and open to the public.

2021 Flexible Spending Account and L-FSA April 30 Deadline
The deadline to file your 2021 FSA or L-FSA claims is fast-approaching! Members have until April 30, 2022, to file any FSA or limited purpose FSA claims that have a service date of January 1-December 31, 2021. Any 2021 FSA or L-FSA claims filed after April 30, 2022, will be denied. Members can submit claims online at www.optumbank.com/Tennessee or via the Optum Bank app (found on the Apple App Store or Google Play).
Optum Financial emailed a reminder to all participants for whom there is an email address on file on March 23, 2022. If you have questions or need assistance, you can contact the Optum Financial customer service team at 1.866.600.4984. *Note this April 30 deadline does not apply to the dependent care FSA, which temporarily has an extended grace period in place, and instead has a deadline of December 31, 2022, for all 2021 claims to be filed.
