Tech’s Chapter of AAUP will hold a meeting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3 via Zoom. Founded in 1915, AAUP is a professional organization for all disciplines that has set standard language for higher ed., and is still used in faculty handbooks and TTUs Policy Central. It promotes shared governance, offers many professional development opportunities, and provides a strong link to fellow institutions of higher learning in Tennessee and around the nation. New members are welcome, and previous members are invited to renew their memberships. Please join with the Project AWAKEN team to congratulate our Project Coordinator, Jac Ewasyshyn, in obtaining national certification. Jac recently received professional credentials as an advocate through the National Advocate Credential Program (NACP) as a comprehensive services specialist with a focus on domestic violence, sexual assault, campus advocacy, and program management. This certification brings a designation of Comprehensive Victim Intervention Specialist to Tennessee Tech’s Project AWAKEN. The AWAKEN team is extremely proud of Jac’s accomplishments and grateful for her expertise and leadership with Project AWAKEN.

The deadline to apply for undergraduate graduation for Spring 2021 is September 1. If you are an intending to complete your degree in Spring 2021 and have not yet applied for graduation, please log into your Eagle Online account and apply by September 1, 2020.
The R.A.C.E. PLUS project has been awarded a SERS grant for 2020-2021. The project is a collaboration between the Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Charria Campbell (PI), the College of Engineering Student Success Center, the College of Business Student Success Center, and the Office of Admissions.
The goal of R.A.C.E. PLUS is to increase support for diverse students at Tennessee Tech to ensure retention, persistence, and success after college. It will include a course on professional development, workshops on career readiness, emphasis on research, and networking events. Speaking about the project, Ms. Campbell says, “The TBR grant will aid us in our efforts to continue to support students from underrepresented backgrounds at all levels during their time here at Tech. This funding allows us to provide more opportunities through the partnerships our four areas have been working to provide for the students and will create a wider range of programming to help our students become leaders in their fields and in their communities.”

The new stock site is easier to navigate and find what you need, with more advanced search capabilities and the ability to curate photos for projects. So long as they’ve logged into IDme first, anyone with a Tennessee Tech login will be able to access the stock site. If you don’t have a subscription, you will be able to download web-sized versions of stock images. As before, the stock site is available at https://photo.tntech.edu. A guide to using the new stock site is available for your reference. You can also access it from within the stock site by clicking “Help” in the top navigation.
