  • Whitney Ave. parking lot has reopened!

    Whitney Ave. parking lot has reopened!

    We are pleased to share that more than 90% of the purple-zoned parking lot bound by North Whitney Avenue and North Willow Avenue has reopened for student, faculty and staff use! Members of the campus community with a valid parking permit can begin using this lot immediately.
    Please note there is a temporary turnaround at the north end of the parking lot as construction personnel continue some work in this area that is tied to the J.J. Oakley Innovation Center & Residence Hall.

    Access to this lot is available via Wings Up Way. The West 10th Street access point remains temporarily closed due to construction.

    As a reminder, you can receive timely parking messages like these on your mobile device by downloading the Passio GO for free in the Apple Store or on Google Play. Once the app is installed, go to “My Agency” on the left-hand side of the app and search “Tennessee Tech,” then click to select. By enabling push notifications, users can receive a message on their phone’s lock screen any time a new parking message is shared.

    Due to emergency utility work, the Chick-fil-A at TN Tech University, located in the lower level of the RUC, will be closed from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 24. Please visit our website at Dine On Campus for additional information and to view the service hours at our other restaurants on campus.  Our Instagram page is another great way to find updateso n all things Dining on Campus.

    Temporary parking closure for Sept. 17 Employer Expo 

    Please note that the university is hosting its annual employer expo on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hooper-Eblen Center. This event will bring 180 employers to Tech’s campus and is the Center for Career Development’s largest employer event held each year.

    To provide parking for our employer guests, the narrow strip of purple-zoned parking between the soccer fields and the Hooper-Eblen Center will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, and reopen after 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17.

    Please also expect additional vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the Hooper Eblen Center on Sept. 17 for this event. Thank you for your understanding.

    Construction and Maintenance Related Campus Impacts

    With the ACME Engineering Building construction beginning, Tennessee Tech will have four major capital projects underway simultaneously. This represents an unprecedented level of construction activity on campus not seen since the sixties. This volume of work reflects both the scale of recent investments into the campus and the substantial coordination required by university staff, designers, contractors, and stakeholders to successfully deliver these projects.

    Please be aware of several impacts to traffic patterns on campus are depicted in the attached image.

  • Facilities Offices Closed on Thursday, May 7th from 11:00-12:00

    The Facilities Offices (including the warehouse) will be closed from 11:00-12:00 on Thursday May 7th for a Spring Semester appreciation lunch.  Your cooperation during this time is greatly appreciated. If you do have an emergency that warrants an immediate response during this time, please contact the TTU Police Department (x3234) who will contact the appropriate personnel.

  • Notice on abandoned bicycles

    Notice on abandoned bicycles

    Please note that Parking & Transportation Services will begin tagging abandoned bicycles around our campus beginning Friday, May 1. During the week of May 18, bicycles that have been tagged as abandoned property will be removed and taken to university surplus or may be disposed. Please email parking@tntech.edu with questions.

  • Spring Break Steam Outage – March 19-20

    The campus steam distribution system will be shut down on Thursday morning, March 19th, to allow for some much needed repairs that can only be safely performed while the steam plant is offline.  Weather forecasts predict a warmer end to the week of spring break, with highs in the upper 60’s, which means that minimal impacts are anticipated on Thursday.  Please be aware that some areas on campus will be cooler than normal on Friday morning, so please dress appropriately.  The healthier steam system will be brought back online by the close of business Friday, March 20th.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

  • Steam Outage – December 18, 2025

    Please be prepared for a steam outage on Thursday, 12/18, by dressing for potentially cooler indoor temperatures.  Facilities is in the process of repairing the main steam/condensate line at Manhole #1 (across from steam plant).  While we hope to return this manhole to service shortly, to ensure that the steam leak at Crawford Hall (Manhole #5) is repaired before the Christmas break, a steam outage this Thursday is required that will impact most buildings on campus.  Thursday is the warmest day of the week, and after speaking with Res Life and Dining Services, it is also the least impactful day for a steam shut down on campus.

    We speculate that a gasket has failed in manhole #5, a fairly routine repair, but getting the manhole and piping cool enough to work with will take some time. Please note that if we are able to complete the repair to steam manhole #1 before Thursday, this outage will be cancelled.

  • Facilities System Update- Maintenance Downtime

    The work order system will be unavailable for schedule maintenance from Wednesday, October 15, beginning at 3pm through Thursday, October 16 at 1pm. During this time, no work orders can be submitted. Please hold all regular, routine work orders until the system is back online. For emergency residential needs, please contact (931) 372-3666.
