The Child Development Lab invites you to participate in our annual Costume Parade. Each October, the children and families from the CDL march through campus and around the quad, collecting treats along the way! Individuals, office teams, departments, or campus groups are invited to participate by completing the form (https://forms.office.com/r/e2hkhBrrFz) by Monday, October 27th, to reserve a table. Participants are encouraged to dress up and decorate their tables. Once the children arrive at the quad, they will stop at each table to collect treats. Thank you for helping to make this event a success!

The Campus Wellness Initiative will host FREE psychoeducational therapeutic groups; every Thursday from 3PM to 4PM at the conference room of the Health Services Clinic, in Bell Hall. You can expect to learn about a variety of mental health topics such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and more. We together can explore the best coping skills and stress management skills you need to have a great semester! Dr. Crystal R. Sanders to Speak Oct. 23
Dr. Sanders will deliver a talk on “In Pursuit of Their Highest Potential: Black Southerners and Graduate Education during the Era of Legal Segregation,” based on her most recent publication, the critically acclaimed and award-winning “A Forgotten Migration: Black Southerners, Segregation Scholarships and the Debt Owed to Public HBCUs,” which has already been the feature of a national PBS documentary: Segregation Scholarships.
This Center Stage event is on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in Stonecipher 113.

Founder of TN Educators of Color Alliance to Speak Oct. 22
Dr. Diarese George, a former classroom teacher in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, founded the Tennessee Educators of Color Alliance (TECA) in Fall 2016. He and other founding board members saw a lack of people of color involved in education policy at all levels, as well as a lack of convening space and resources in Tennessee for the recruitment and retention of educators of color.
Dr. George will participate in a panel forum for students on how to support the diversity of K-12 students across the state on Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. in the STEM Center Auditorium.
Then he will speak on diversity and mentorship in education at 6 p.m. in the STEM Center Auditorium.
On Oct. 23, Dr. George will be a part of a panel forum for faculty on support for and retention of educators of color. This will be held at 11 a.m. in Bartoo Hall 111.
