    Blue Cross Bowl to affect parking, traffic

    We will welcome hundreds of high school students plus their families and friends again this year as we host the TSSAA Blue Cross Bowl state championship football games.

    Our campus will host games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 through Saturday, Dec. 5, at Tucker Stadium. Games will be held at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. each of the three days. Friday games are expected to bring the most weekday visitors to campus.

     The parking lots near Tucker Stadium, Volpe Library, Bryan Fine Arts and Johnson Hall will be barricaded and reserved for championship visitors who pay to park in this area. All other parking lots will remain open for faculty, staff and students based on hangtags and will be first come, first served. This year, we anticipate ample parking availability for faculty, staff and students due to the decreased number of people travelling to campus each day.

    TSSAA volunteer parking teams will be monitoring lots and collecting money from visitors paying to park in dedicated campus lots.

    Where Not to Park
    Please park in permit areas only. Please do not park on the grass, in fire lanes or other areas not normally designated as parking. Handicap parking will still require a designated handicap tag. Do not block service or mail spots.

    Diversity and Inclusion in STEM Presentation- Nov 19

    The Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) and Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) chapters are hosting Benny Chan, Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry at The College of New Jersey for a diversity and inclusion presentation at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. You can attend in person in Foster 233 or via Zoom (link here). The presentation is titled “Using my queer superpowers to create inclusive excellence in STEM”. Marginalized communities need a coordinated effort to realize equity in the STEM community and Professor Chan will discuss his life and how he is supporting the fight for diversity, equity, and inclusion.  The presentation is free and open to all students, faculty, and staff and should be informative for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.     Opportunity for Paid and Academic Credit Internships with UCDD

    Rural Reimagined invites all students to get involved with paid or academic credit hour internships through the Upper Cumberland Development District (UCDD) in Spring 2021. There are currently 18 paid, college credit hour, service learning, or job shadowing internship positions ranging from 7-20 hours/week available within various UCDD departments. UCDD has internships available for all students from different fields of study, and some of their needs include marketing, event planning, communications, data collection, filing, IT support, social media management, research, grant writing, and more. TN Tech students in the past have had great experiences through UCDD internships, and Rural Reimagined encourages students from all majors and skillsets to get involved!
