    Purple Career Readiness Workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 16: What Employers Look for

    Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, Feb. 16, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop. Mr. Eric Hyche, Tech Alumnus and Senior iOS Engineer at Noom, Inc., will be navigating through the expectations that employers hold when conducting virtual interviews with potential candidates.

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

    To attend virtually, access the TEAMS link in Handshake Events. To receive credit for attending, you must log in with your Tennessee Tech email, participate if asked to during the workshop and be present for at least 80% of the presentation.

    One Billion Rising Submissions Due Saturday!

    Tennessee Tech University supports survivors and does not tolerate any forms of power-based violence! Join us in celebrating One Billion Rising. Artistic submissions are due Saturday, Feb 13. Every submission wins a prize!!

    One Billion Rising is the biggest global campaign to end violence against women. This year, the event is adapted to be a week-long event that everyone can participate in from home! To participate, submit any form of artistic expression (such as a painting, drawing, poetry, or video) related to OBR, rising, healing, or support for survivors. Submissions can be sent to awaken@tntech.edu (a picture of the submission is fine!).

  • PTC Intern Hannah Krant Accepts Internship with Rural Reimagined

    Rural Reimagined (RR) recognizes and congratulates Hannah Krant for accepting an internship with us this semester. Hannah is a senior majoring in Professional & Technical Communication (PTC) within the English department. She will be helping the RR initiative with copyediting and writing stories, blogs, and articles. The internship will connect Hannah with our surrounding rural communities and offer real-life communications experience. Rural Reimagined has had an ongoing partnership with the PTC program, and we are excited to have Hannah onboard!     Don’t miss this opportunity to network with recruiters as they share information about their Season Interpretive Ranger positions! Season Interpreter/Recreators (SIRs) provide interpretive programs for park guests such as guide tours, hikes, workshops, canoe floats, slide shows, demonstrations, campfires and other outdoor activities. They assist park rangers in the protection of natural and cultural features, and other resource management-related activities as assigned.  Get a step ahead and apply directly in Handshake before speaking to recruiters!
