    Purple Career Readiness Workshop on Mar. 30: Making Effective Presentations

    Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, Mar. 30, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop! Scott Christen, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Communication Studies, will be showing the best ways to effectively communicate your message through a successful presentation.

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

    To attend virtually, access the link for TEAMS in Handshake Events. To receive credit for attending, you must log in with your Tennessee Tech email, participate if asked to during the workshop and be present for at least 80% of the presentation.

  • Fentress County Develops Official Seal with TTU Student Assistance

    Fentress County Develops Official Seal with TTU Student Assistance

    Through the assistance of Tennessee Tech graphic design major and Center for Rural Innovation intern, Jesse Filoteo, the Fentress County Chamber of Commerce and Executive’s Office have officially created an original Fentress County Seal, which was unanimously voted to officially represent the county on February 22nd. Filoteo utilized what he learned at TN Tech to create a design that he believed would impact the county and his own future in design. He states, “I’m happy to say I think we’re all very pleased for this seal to represent Fentress County, Tennessee.” The Fentress County Executive’s Office and County Commission will hold a press release celebration for the official unveiling of the county seal on Friday, March 12th, at 10 am in Jamestown, TN. Fentress County Executive Johnson states, “I am so proud to finally see an official seal presented to the citizens of Fentress County that will stand the test of time and last for generations.” Read the full story here.     Purple Pride Fridays are a chance for you to show your university pride and highlight how awesome it is to be a Golden Eagle. This can mean dressing all in purple and gold, decorating office or work spaces in university pride, or simply adding some extra purple to your wardrobe for the day.

    OCM will be sharing Purple Pride Friday social media posts that tag the university each Friday and highlighting different areas of campus each week. Join the fun!

    Join student organization, One World, as they welcome guest speaker, Linda Ragsdale, for the online version of this annual favorite, One World Multicultural Evening.

    Ms. Ragsdale will speak on “The Diversity Within.” Everything starts with us. With this awareness, we can look at our vast diversity of emotions and experiences to refocus on how we see, speak and choose to become more inclusive, empathetic and compassionate. Understanding our internal diversity will help us direct our external responses.

  • French Conversation Hour

    The next French conversation hour will take place on Thursday, March 25, from 5-6 pm in Oakley 214.  All levels are welcome–from beginner to advanced.  This is a great way to practice speaking French, and to meet other French speakers.
