First join Jonathan Blanchard and his band with an educational musical performance, “The History of Hip Hop” at 3PM in Wattenbarger Auditorium in the Bryan Fine Arts Building. Then join us for the Live on the Plaza Concert Series featuring Jonathan Blanchard’s “The Block Party”! This free event will be from 6-8PM on Centennial Plaza. “Latin American Music: A Constellations of Cultures” Featuring Dr. Carlos Odria from Worcester State University
 
Join us virtually for this enriching Lecture/Performance on Thursday, April 15, 2021 11:00 AM Central Time 

This lecture/performance aims to foster awareness of Latin American cultural diversity through an emphasis on the relationship between music, culture, and history in the region. We will explore the indigenous music of countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Cuba, and Colombia. The presentation includes a brief introduction to the region, its history and cultural expressions, performance of selected genres and styles, discussion of selected Latin American indigenous instruments, and interactive music activities with students.
