    A Day Without Plants! April 22, 2021

    This Earth Day, the Office of Sustainability will be attempting to go 24 hours without any help from the plant world, and we want you to join us! The goal of this activity will be to show just how reliant we all are on plants. This will be taking place on April 22, 2021, but feel free to choose another day this month to participate that will best fit your schedule! Check out the guidelines on our website here:

    Arbor Day Tree Scavenger Hunt, April 22-30

    April 22nd through April 30th the Office of Sustainability is going to be hosting an Arbor Day Tree Scavenger Hunt. We have provided you with ten clues about ten different trees on campus! For the scavenger hunt, snap a picture with as many trees as you can identify from the clues and e-mail them to us at TTUGreen@tntech.edu . For extra points, post them on your Instagram and tag us @TNTechEcoEagles. Whoever submits the most trees wins! The winner will be announced May 3rd.     Annual Banquet is officially an outdoor picnic this year. Boxed lunches available for pick up on North Patio, Saturday, April 24 from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

    Campus mask requirements apply for this event.

    If the weather isn’t cooperating, the Multipurpose Room is reserved. Space is limited, but you are welcome to pick up a boxed lunch and say hi!

    SOLO Presents: Kofi & Awefa Mawuko with Ghanaian Drum Ensemble Sat Apr 24

    Ghanaian master drummer Kofi Mawuko and expert dancer Awefa Mawuko join the Tennessee Tech Ghanaian Drum Ensemble for an hour of traditional music from Ghana, West Africa.     Tawnysha Greene, a senior lecturer in the English department at UT–Knoxville, will visit TTU virtually this Thursday, April 22nd. The reading is free and open to the public.     Webinar Series – Preparing Rural Communities for EVs

    Tennessee Technological University (TNTech) presents the 2021 Spring Webinar Series “Preparing Rural Communities for Electric Vehicles – The User Experience” that is part of TNTech’s “Developing an EV Demonstration Testbed in the Upper Cumberland” Project.

    Register for this free webinar via the following link, where current electric vehicle (EV) drivers from the area will describe their experiences on test driving an EV for two weeks in the “Upper Cumberland” (UC), largely rural area of Tennessee, a 14-county region in the middle of the state.
