    Open Mic Event with P.W. Covington at the Backdoor Playhouse

    Tuesday, Sept. 7th at 7p.m.

    Students, staff, faculty and community members are invited to participate in a poetry open mic, opening the show for Covington before his featured reading. Poets wanting to perform may contact campus event host Andrew Smith in advance of the event at asmith@tntech.edu.

    This is an in-person event, free and open to all. Masks required for entry.

    The Tennessee Tech Aviation Society is holding an information meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sep. 2 in Ray Morris Hall 150 for new and returning members. We are a club for anyone with interest in flight or the aviation or aerospace industries and are open to all majors and concentrations as well as all levels of learning.     Welcome Back Part-Time Job Fair is on Sept. 2

    Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Centennial Plaza, located between the Roaden University Center and Derryberry Hall, for the Welcome Back Part-Time Job Fair. Be prepared to speak with local employers seeking Tech students for part-time opportunities! All majors are invited to participate to learn more about career opportunities with over 20 employers!

    In the event of inclement weather, this event will be moved to the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor).

    Students should come dressed to impress. For Gold Career Readiness credit, be sure to stop by the Career Development tent to record your attendance.

    All participants will be required to follow Campus Return to Tech Guidelines regarding social distancing and face coverings.

    Purple Career Readiness Workshop on Aug. 31: Resume Tweaks

    Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, Aug. 31, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop. A staff member from the Center for Career Development will be breaking down the top-tier resume guide for soon to be graduates.

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

    To attend virtually, access the TEAMS link in Handshake Events. To receive credit for attending, you must log in with your Tennessee Tech email, participate if asked to during the workshop and be present for at least 80% of the presentation, and make sure that your camera is turned on during your attendance.

  • Tech Hosts Upper Cumberland College Fair at the Burn

    Tennessee Tech is hosting the annual Upper Cumberland College Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at the Marc L. Burnett Student Recreation and Fitness Center (the Burn). This event brings 2,000-plus prospective high school students to Tech’s campus. Let’s show them how to Live Wings Up! The following impacts on campus can be expected from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    • Wings Up Way will have occasional blockages from buses coming from Stadium Drive to load and unload students.
    • The Burn will be full of activity with touring high school students, so expect crowds when visiting.
    • The gravel parking lot adjacent to Willow Avenue will be reserved for event parking. High school buses will park by the baseball field.
