    Are you interested in Co-op? Need to find out how YOU can be Co-op Eligible? Attend this Co-op Meetup on Tuesday, February 14, in Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room, at 11 a.m. New guidelines, which went into effect Fall 2022 for engineering student enrollment, will be shared.

     

    This session will also have additional information regarding CPT for International Students.  You do not want to miss this information session, if you will require a CPT to accept an internship or co-op opportunity.

     

    The Co-op Meetup will explain the eligibility guidelines for enrolling in the Cooperative Education Program, which applies to all students.  You may review the updated eligibility guidelines at: https://www.tntech.edu/career/students/co-op/eligibility.php

     

    Please note, any student interested in accepting a Cooperative Education position with an employer or a long-term internship, MUST attend a Co-op Meetup, prior to accepting an offer.

    Join the Non-Traditional Student Organization (NTSO) at Bowling World on Wednesday, February 15, 2020, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

    Non-traditional students are defined as being independent for financial aid purposes, having one or more dependents, being a single caregiver, not having a traditional high school diploma, delaying post-secondary enrollment, attending school part-time, and/or being employed full-time. We welcome faculty and staff who are also taking classes, and graduate students who are on campus.

    Rural Reimagined Faculty Grant Program Recognizes Dr. Helen Hunt

    Rural Reimagined would like to recognize Dr. Helen Hunt (Associate Professor of English and Director of the Women’s Center) for receiving Level 1 funding (up to $2,500) from our Faculty Grant Program. Dr. Hunt proposed her project titled “We Persist: A Women and Gender Studies Seminar in Livingston, TN” which is a collaborative seminar between Tech’s Women and Gender Studies minor, Tech’s Women’s Center, and the Livingston Civic and Garden Club. Her seminar’s goals are “to increase understanding of women’s activist history in Tennessee, raise awareness of specific gender-based issues facing Overton County, and provide practical strategies to address these issues,” with the intended attendees being high school students and K-12 teachers. We congratulate Dr. Hunt and encourage other faculty members to submit their ideas in the future!

    Volunteers Needed Regional Science Olympiad Tournament 2-11-23

    The Oakley STEM Center is now recruiting volunteers for the 2023 Regional Science Olympiad (SciOly) Tournament on Saturday, February 11th, 2023. As a volunteer, you’d be assisting coordinators of 46 (SciOly) events. Depending on the event, volunteers will assist with proctoring and grading exams, judging experiments and contraptions, recording time or measurements for moving events, direct participants between activities among other tasks that may come up.
