    November 21 Career Readiness Deadline

    Tuesday, November 21st, is the FINAL DAY to submit your Career Readiness Application for the Fall 2023 semester. All materials for Gold and Purple Career Readiness Applications MUST be turned in to the Center for Career Development (RUC 328), in-person to RUC 328, via email to career@tntech.edu, or online at https://www.tntech.edu/career/students/career-ready.php by 8 am on Tuesday, November 21.

    Substitutions or late submissions will not be accepted.

    The Career Readiness Certification program is hosted by the Center for Career Development.

    Author Silas House to Speak on November 30

    Center Stage welcomes author Silas House to campus at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 30 in the Backdoor Playhouse. He will talk about the current cultural context as seen through the characters of his two recent novels, Southernmost and Lark Ascending, read from his works, and answer questions. House is a former commentator for NPR’s “All Things Considered.” His writing has appeared recently in Time, The Atlantic, Ecotone, and Oxford American. For questions, contact athurmond@tntech.edu

    The annual Festival of Student Writing is back—for the twentieth time! This lively and popular event features hundreds of projects created by students in English Composition classes (ENGL 1010 and 1020), who display and discuss their work at various booths and tables. For these projects, participating composition instructors encourage their students to adapt their writing and research to create projects other than traditional essays. Visitors may expect to see posters, exhibits, brochures, multimedia presentations, and performances about a wide range of subjects. All are invited to this event, which is sponsored by the composition program and the Department of English. For questions, contact abaker@tntech.edu.

    Tennessee Tech College of Business is excited to announce its SuitsGiving drive-thru donation event. The donations are being collected for the College of Business’s Business Professional Closet (BPC). The BPC is a free resource for all Tech students to have access to professional clothing. SuitsGiving will be held in the front entrance of Foundation Hall on November 17th, 11 a.m. –  3:30 p.m. We are searching for the following items in all sizes, but especially XS and XXL: suits, sports coats, khaki pants, button-up shirts, ties, belts, shoes, dresses, blouses, pant suits, blazers, dress pants/chinos, and jewelry.     Tennessee Tech’s ESTAR Sanos team, in the Whitson-Hester School of Nursing, is partnering with Hope in Christ Church in Monterey. The groups are co-hosting a winter clothing, mom, and baby supply drive – and YOU CAN HELP!
