The end of the semester can be very stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Come learn coping strategies to de-stress before finals week. Join the Launchpad Student Success Center for Stress Less, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m, Thursday, November 30 in Room 371 in the Roaden University Center.

Weather permitting, students in this semester’s ASTR3100 class (Observational Astronomy) will host a ‘star party’ on Wed, Nov 29 from 6 to 7 pm in the parking lot behind Foundation Hall. Telescopes will be set up to show you planets, stars, nebulae, and even another galaxy. The students will also demonstrate to you how they have been capturing images of some of these objects using the techniques of astrophotography. Center Stage welcomes author Silas House to campus at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 30 in the Backdoor Playhouse. He will talk about the current cultural context as seen through the characters of his two recent novels, Southernmost and Lark Ascending, read from his works, and answer questions. House is a former commentator for NPR’s “All Things Considered.” His writing has appeared recently in Time, The Atlantic, Ecotone, and Oxford American. For questions, contact athurmond@tntech.edu
