Written Comments for Student Conduct & Title IX Compliance Rules Due Tomorrow
Tennessee Tech will conduct rulemaking hearings for Student Conduct, and Title IX Compliance at 1:30 PM CDT held in Roaden University Center, Room 282. Written comments regarding the Title IX rule should be directed to the Compliance Officer, compliance@tntech.edu . Diversity in the Workplace Presentation-Free Lunch
On September 24th from 11 to 11:50 (dead hour) in the Multipurpose room in the RUC, panelists with different jobs will speak about their careers as well as their experiences in the workplace. Boxed lunches will be given to all who attend. We will also have a drawing for Eagle’s Flight swag after the presentation. Time will be given at the end for audience questions. Mental health is a key part of your overall health. Free screenings are available and accessible through the Tech Counseling Center website at https://www.tntech.edu/counsel/.
By taking one of these free screenings you may quickly and easily determine whether a professional consultation might be helpful to you. Screenings are anonymous. After completing the brief questionnaire, you will immediately see your results, recommendations and key resources that are available to you.
In addition, the Tennessee Tech Eagle Eye After-Hours Crisis hotline is available to Tech students who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. The crisis hotline is available evenings, weekends and holidays for Tech students at 855-206-8997.

National Drive Electric Week Cookeville Sep 26, 2020
The electric vehicle (EV) Ride & Drive event will come to Cookeville TN, for the first time. Join us for this interactive in-person ride and drive as part of the National Drive Electric Week. Learn about EVs from the experts from TN Tech EV demonstration project team and early EV adopters around Cookeville TN, and get your questions about what it’s like to drive or own an EV in rural areas answered.

Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Chris Swindell, TTU Computer Science
The first (virtual) Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar of the Fall 2020 semester will be this week, and will feature Computer Science major Chris Swindell. In his talk Further Optimization of an Ultracold Neutron Spin Dynamics Simulation Code, Chris will describe the methods he employed to realize a 169 times speedup of a Python program designed to model a quantum mechanical system of importance for tests of basic physical laws. The seminar will be this Friday, September 25th at 4pm. It is geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend! Justice Janice Holder will be the featured speaker at the Women’s Leadership Conference hosted by the College of Business on Thursday, during dead hour (11-11:50).The conference is completely virtual, so you can participate from the comfort of home, or office, or by joining us in Johnson Hall Auditorium. Justice Janice Holder was the first female chief justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court. She retired from the bench in 2014 and currently serves as a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 mediator.
