Green Chemistry and Pollution Prevention Lecture
Join us as we celebrate National Chemistry Week (NCW) by learning about Green Chemistry and Pollution Prevention on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in Foster 233. Undergraduate chemistry major and SMACS Green Chemistry Chair, Rebecca Firth, will present on what Green Chemistry is, the twelve principles of the field, how it is being used to create more sustainable and environmentally friendly chemical practices, and how the principle of pollution prevention can impact our lives. No prior chemistry knowledge is required to understand the presentation. A Zoom option is available if you would like to attend virtually (email smacsttu@gmail.com for the link). Snacks and drinks will be provided and university and CDC guidelines will be followed.
