160

The first Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar of the semester will be this Friday at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210. (Snacks will be served starting at 3:30pm.) The speaker will be Professor Shane Hutson, A.B. Learned Professor of Living State Physics from Vanderbilt University. Prof. Hutson studies the physical and biochemical mechanisms of wound signaling in biological tissues and organs. In his talk Something’s wrong in the cellular neighborhood, Prof. Hutson will describe how he develops and quantitatively tests possible signalling mechanisms using image analysis, genetic tools, and computational models. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend! For questions, contact aholley@tntech.edu
