Five years ago, John Mason, ’88 business management, ’96 MBA, started Path of Hope Foundation to help young girls stay in school in developing countries.
Through donations and an all volunteer workforce, Path of Hope gives scholarships and support to help girls in Honduras earn their high school diplomas. Having such a diploma increases each girl’s earning potential 500 percent. Since he and his wife, D’Lanna, began their work, 12 girls have graduated and nearly 100 more are on their way.
John is the chief information officer at St. David’s Healthcare in Austin, Texas.
