The second English Club meeting will be held this Tuesday, 9/19, in 216A Henderson Hall during dead hour. Personalized Learning – Data Driven Decisions
Join the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning for our next workshop on Tuesday, September 19th at 11 AM. Personalized learning is an approach to education that tailors instruction to students’ needs. In this session, we will discuss the importance of data-driven decisions and provide information about Small Group Instructional Diagnostics. SGID’s are a simple and straightforward evaluation process that uses structured small group discussions among students to provide confidential feedback to an instructor, generally around the midpoint of a term. Hispanic Heritage Month Campus Conversations: Sharing Our Stories, September 18
Intercultural Affairs will host the first Campus Conversations of the year on Monday, September 18 at 6 pm in the RUC Multipurpose Room. This event will be in celebration and honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Our featured panelists for the evening will be Dr. Pedro Arce, Professor and University Distinguished Faculty Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering; Dr. Mari Ramler, Associate Professor in the Department of English, and students Bryan Morales and Maria Camacho. NAVSEA Info Session on September 18

The NAVSEA Warfare Centers hire scientists and engineers in many disciplines to perform research and development into surface and undersea weapons systems. They are now creating the technology that will underlie naval warfare in the coming decades.
NAVSEA solves difficult problems for the Navy and joint forces. They invent, develop, acquire, and test combat systems and equipment to provide superior technology to defeat current and future threats across many different and complex environments. They continually seek to improve their ships, systems, and related technologies.

Minecraft Server of Tennessee Tech
We are a group of Tennessee Tech students joined under a common interest of playing Minecraft. The server IP is ttumc.tech, but the server is whitelisted so you need to join our Discord at discord.ttumc.tech
(Note: if you join from the internet in the RUC or residential halls you can bypass the whitelist but it is still recommended to get whitelisted)
The server also supports Bedrock Edition cross-play! To join on Bedrock Edition use IP: bedrock.ttumc.tech Port: 25566. You will still need to get whitelisted so please join our Discord.
The server runs on a plugin that is coded by Tennessee Tech students and the server supports both Bedrock and Java Edition cross-play. The game mode is survival multiplayer or SMP and we do not allow griefing or theft. Feel free to join the Discord or email us at tntechmcserver@gmail.com to get verified and play on the server with other students.

Employer Expo Job and Internship Fair on September 19
Don’t miss the Employer Expo Job and Internship Fair happening next Tuesday, September 19! This recruiting event will house almost 200 organizations who are actively seeking co-op, internship, and full-time, entry-level positions. Employers will be at the Employer Expo to meet and discuss their employment opportunities with you!
The Employer Expo will be held from 10am to 2pm in the Burnett Center and ALL Majors are invited to attend. Students will need to enter through the main front entrance of the BURN. Be sure to bring your Eagle Card with you so we can make a personalized nametag for you upon arrival!
Remember, Career Fairs are NO BACKPACK ZONES – please leave your backpack in your car or room!

WEST Workshop: Brainstorming and Pre-Writing!
Are you having trouble getting started on your midterm essay? Not sure how to turn your ideas into something coherent? Staring at a blank page for hours on end? WEST is here to help you! The Writing Excellence Studio at Tech will be hosting a workshop on dealing with brainstorming, and pre-writing. We will discuss strategies for organizing your ideas, for getting your thoughts down on paper, and ways to cope with the terrors of that empty white screen. Come join us during Dead Hour on Thursday, September 21, in Henderson Hall 304B. The workshop is open to all students, regardless of what stage you’re at in your writing. Trauma Recovery Group September 22nd
Are you struggling to work through unresolved trauma? Join our trauma recovery group to learn about the different ways trauma can affect us, develop techniques that may help in times of distress, as well as being a positive support for others who also struggle with the same experiences. Launchpad’s Success Series- Mastering College Connections
Effective networking begins on day 1 of college, not at graduation! For first-year students, it can be hard to know how to get connected to the college campus. Yet, networking strategies are skills students take with them into their lives and careers. This workshop is geared toward first-year students to teach networking strategies that can immediately be applied.
Join the Launchpad Student Success Center for Mastering College Connections, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m, Thursday, Sept. 14 in Room 371 in the Roaden University Center.
