University, city and county law enforcement hold emergency preparedness meeting
Following recent active shooter hoax calls at other institutions, University Police Chief Fred Nichols met recently with city and county law enforcement and emergency personnel to discuss ways that Tennessee Tech can continue to be proactive in maintaining a secure campus and protecting students, faculty, staff and visitors.
“It’s always good to look at events happening around us, discuss how our plans work and stay in close collaboration with our local law enforcement partners,” said Chief Nichols following the meeting. “The safety of all Golden Eagles remains our highest priority.”

Trauma Recovery Group Fall Semester 2025
Are you struggling to work through unresolved trauma? Join our trauma recovery group to learn about the different ways trauma can affect us, develop techniques that may help in times of distress, as well as being a positive support for others who also struggle with the same experiences. On Tues., Sept. 2nd at 11 AM in Brown 315, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) will be hosting guest speaker Dr. Dale Blair. He will be giving a talk about his engineering experiences and giving general advise to engineering students at Tennessee Tech. He presentation will include topics about controls and sensors as well as how engineering is used in industry and how your time at Tennessee Tech will provide you with tools to solve any problem.
