Last Day to Order “Love Potions”- Feb. 10
Wednesday, Feb. 10 is the last day to order Love Potions (plastic test tubes filled with M&Ms) through the Student Members of the American Chemical Society’s Square Store (https://smacsttu.square.site/). We will deliver your order to your Tech mailbox (for students) or office (for faculty and staff) on Friday, Feb. 12. Individual love potions are $2 or you can buy 3 for $5. You will be contacted via email after you order to determine the delivery location. Any questions can be sent to smacsttu@gmail.com.

PTC Intern Hannah Krant Accepts Internship with Rural Reimagined
Rural Reimagined (RR) recognizes and congratulates Hannah Krant for accepting an internship with us this semester. Hannah is a senior majoring in Professional & Technical Communication (PTC) within the English department. She will be helping the RR initiative with copyediting and writing stories, blogs, and articles. The internship will connect Hannah with our surrounding rural communities and offer real-life communications experience. Rural Reimagined has had an ongoing partnership with the PTC program, and we are excited to have Hannah onboard! Season Interpreter/Recreators (SIRs) provide interpretive programs for park guests such as guide tours, hikes, workshops, canoe floats, slide shows, demonstrations, campfires and other outdoor activities. They assist park rangers in the protection of natural and cultural features, and other resource management-related activities as assigned. Don’t miss this opportunity with Russ Coughenour, Director of the Center for Career Development, to learn how to get your resume ready as you prepare for the fairs!
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

Rural Reimagined (RR) encourages faculty to visit the RR Faculty Resources page, which offers research, grant, funding, and other secondary data resources. Examples of rural-related coursework success stories are available, as well as resource links relating to regional, state, national, and COVID-19 research. Rural Reimagined wants to recognize all rural-related endeavors across campus and encourages faculty who have incorporated RR into their courses or research to share their stories to help inspire the campus community to transform rural living.

Tennessee Tech’s literary magazine The Iris Review is now accepting submissions for the Spring 2021 edition through February 28th. The magazine is open to all TTU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Cookeville community, so feel free to spread the word.

The Tennessee Tech Chapter of AAUP (American Association of University Professors) will hold its February meeting this Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. through Zoom. AAUP plays a key role in addressing matters of concern for institutions of higher learning around the country, helps to set national policy, and works to preserve shared governance and academic freedom. It is an immersive memoir of Miller’s highly publicized sexual assault by Stanford University swimmer Brock Turner, the high-profile court case, and its aftermath. Continue the One Billion Rising Events on 2/11 with a guided meditation!
In honor of One Billion Rising – a global campaign to end rape & sexual violence – join Project Awaken and the Women’s Center for a FREE guided meditation on the topic of Rising.
The meditation will be led by meditation teacher, Deanna Lack, who is also the lay minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Cookeville, TN. It will be on Thursday, February 11th at 10 A.M. – all are welcome!
