Bethany Kelsey Begins Internship with Rural Reimagined
Rural Reimagined (RR) is excited to welcome our newest academic intern Bethany Kelsey for the Spring 2023 semester. Bethany is a senior here at Tennessee Tech studying Professional and Technical Communication (PTC) that is graduating in December. When asked why she selected Rural Reimagined, Bethany said that helping others is essential to her “because it [RR] consistently goes above and beyond expectations to improve rural living by leveraging science, technology, and entrepreneurship.” Bethany hopes to assist and support businesses and entrepreneurs in the surrounding rural communities by applying her “understanding of technical communication and professional development while gaining knowledge and skills thanks to the connections made possible by this internship.” We encourage other students to get involved with their rural community! Gold Career Readiness Workshop on March 9: Introductory Interview Skills
Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, March 9, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room (1st Floor) for this Gold Career Readiness Workshop! Mr. Russ Coughenour, Center for Career Development Director, will guide you through the top tips and skills to have a successful interview!

WEST Workshop: Engineering Writing
Working on an Engineering project that involves writing a report or project narrative? Have you mastered design and testing, but aren’t quite sure how to communicate your results? WEST is here to help you! The Writing Excellence Studio at Tech will be hosting a workshop on writing conventions in Engineering disciplines. We will discuss structure and content, formatting, citation, and other common practices involved in writing by and for engineers or engineering courses. Come join us during Dead Hour on Tuesday, March 21, in Henderson Hall 304B. The workshop is open to all students, regardless of what stage you’re at in your writing. Best Practices Across Course Modalities

Support Your Local Freedom School on Sunday, March 26
On March 26 from 2pm – 6pm please join the College of Education for a casual afternoon at The Putnam Room, a long-time Freedom School Partner, on Cookeville’s historic courthouse square.
Enjoy a selection of fine wine, craft beer, sangria, a stunning cocktail buffet, and more. For planning purposes, reservations are required. The cost is $75 per person. Attendees may arrive at their leisure; a 21 and over event.
The event kicks off support for this summer’s Elinor Ross CDF Freedom School, a free six-week literacy and cultural enrichment initiative serving Putnam Co. kids in grades 1st – 5th whose families qualify for free/reduced lunch programs.

Budget Office – Training Recordings Now Available
The Budget Office is happy to announce that we are now offering recorded training sessions on our homepage for the Position Control Budget Training and the Budget Banner Screen Training. These trainings will still continue to be presented monthly, but the recordings will be an additional resource available to campus. Since the General Budget Training is required for signature authority on budget revisions, it will not be offered as a recorded session. The Shadow System Training will be recorded and will be added to the homepage later this year. The Budget Office is committed to value creation and strives to create a supportive environment.
