University announces new interim leaders
Two current campus leaders have received new interim appointments.
Suzann Hensley is now the interim director of the Marc. L. Burnett Student Recreation & Fitness Center. Suzann earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary physical education in 1978 and a master’s degree in education administration and supervision in 1999 from Tech. She joined Tech as assistant director of campus recreation in 1991 and is the current assistant director of The Burn. “I’ve always said and still say it’s the best job on campus. This is a phenomenal facility with an awesome staff and I am just proud to be a part of it,” she said.
Greg Holt is serving as interim Associate Vice President for Human Resources until a search can be completed. Greg is currently the university’s compliance officer and also coordinates Title VI, Title IX, and Clery compliance. “We have a strong team in Human Resources and I am happy to assist the university in this role during the search process.”

Purple Career Workshop on Jan. 28: Employer Insights to Successful Interviewing
Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Jan. 28, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop. A panel of employers will share their top tips and advice from their perspective for having a successful interview.
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.
To attend virtually, access the TEAMS link in Handshake Events. To receive credit for attending, you must log in with your Tennessee Tech email, participate if asked to during the workshop and be present for at least 80% of the presentation.

Rural Reimagined: Call to Faculty for Spring 2021
Since Rural Reimagined’s implementation in March 2019, TN Tech faculty have impacted rural areas through rural-related research, coursework, and over $1.4 million in activated grants. With the beginning of the Spring 2021 semester, Rural Reimagined wants to recognize all faculty who have or are currently working on rural-related research or coursework. If you have received a rural-related grant, are currently working on a proposal for rural-related research, or have included/plan to include rural-based objectives into your coursework, please email Kinsey Potter at sw-kbpotter@tntech.edu. The new Student Events webpage provides an area for all campus departments and student organizations to feature their student events in one, easy to find location.

To post your student event, select “submit calendar event” and fill out the form. The event will be posted on the student activities (university) calendar and appear on the upcoming events feed on the student events page.

L.A.R.P. Club Meetings this Semester!
Hello Adventurer!
The TTU L.A.R.P. Club will be hosting its regular meetings on Thursdays and Fridays from 3:00pm – 5:00pm in Sherlock Park. Meetings are open to all TTU students, faculty, and staff. The themes of the meetings are typically combat with foam weapons in both an individual and team-based fashion. Garb is encouraged (e.g. tunics, plain neutral pants, boots, armor, etc.) and can be historically or fantastically based. The club provides weapons for members to use, but feel free to bring your own L.A.R.P. weapon for us to check. All you have to bring is water, gloves, PPE, and an attitude for adventure!

First Speech & Debate Practice of February
Join the TTU Speech & Debate Team for the first February meeting on 02/01/2021. We meet every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm in Henderson 004, so if you can’t come to this meeting, join us when you can!
The team is a great way to build your resume, make professional and personal connections, improve your speaking skills, and have a positive and fun college experience. The team may be of particular interest to communication, political science, psychology/sociology, and education majors, though ALL are welcome!

W-2s for 2020 released!
Electronic W-2s are now available online!
Update on Electronic W-2s. First log into TechExpress (https://express.tntech.edu). Select Eagle button from the Quicklinks area. This will take you to Eagle Online. Select the Employee tab, and your W-2 is located under Tax Forms. Please note that your PIN is not required if you use Tech Express.
Paper W-2s were mailed January 22nd for employees who did not consent to receiving the electronic version. Employees who wish to receive W-2’s electronically in the future can select Electronic Regulatory Consent in Tech Express under Tax Forms. We encourage employees to select Electronic Regulatory Consent as it reduces the risk of others obtaining your personal information through mail theft.
