Rural Reimagined: Fall 2020 Overview and Opportunities
Are you interested in impacting surrounding rural areas through research, coursework, or student leadership? Then you should become involved with TN Tech’s Grand Challenge initiative, Rural Reimagined, which aims to transform rural communities through science, technology, and innovation. TN Tech’s wide array of departments and its location amongst several rural communities creates many opportunities for our students and faculty to participate in Rural Reimagined and impact rural living. Mental Health with Lambda
We at Lambda GSA want to welcome you to our second meeting of the year. We will be meeting Monday, August 31st at 6:30 pm on our Discord server. For those who feel the need for a physical queer safe space, we have reserved BELL 232. We want to keep interactions as safe as possible, so online presence is preferred but we will have the room available as needed. For this meeting, we will be discussing a very important topic: Mental Health. We will be talking about how to accept when we need help for our mental health and how to get access to that. Mental health is so important, especially during these very trying times we currently find ourselves in. We invite each and everyone of you to join us if you are interested. Everyone is welcome in our club. We hope to see some new faces and some old this year. Tech Chapter of AAUP
Tech’s Chapter of AAUP will hold a meeting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3 via Zoom. Founded in 1915, AAUP is a professional organization for all disciplines that has set standard language for higher ed., and is still used in faculty handbooks and TTUs Policy Central. It promotes shared governance, offers many professional development opportunities, and provides a strong link to fellow institutions of higher learning in Tennessee and around the nation. New members are welcome, and previous members are invited to renew their memberships. Are you interested in Co-op? Do you know if your Internship requires you to enroll in Co-op? Attend the first Co-op Meetup of the semester on Sept. 1 in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) at 11 a.m.
Any student interested in accepting a Cooperative Education position with an employer MUST attend a Co-op Meetup. The Co-op Meetup will explain the current eligibility guidelines for enrolling in the Cooperative Education Program, which went into effect July 1, 2019 for all students. Pre-registration to enroll in the Co-op Program is now required and attending a Co-op Meetup is your first step!
