PURPLE Career Readiness Workshop TODAY
Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, November 5th, starting at 11 a.m. in the Tech Pride Room in the Roaden University Center for this PURPLE Career Readiness Workshop. This workshop will utilize tips and tricks from our staff on how you will be evaluated on your first job or internship.
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for attendance credit.

Faculty innovators – come on November 21st to get help finalizing your invention
Do you have research that you want to disclose, but not sure how to? Not sure why you should dislose? TTAC is hosting a workshop on November 21st from 11am – noon in RUC room 246 to help faculty with completing the invention disclosure form. Submit a disclosure by December 6th to receive a $100 stipend! Light refreshments will be provided.

Honoring Native American Heritage Month!
Join the Department of History, Intercultural Affairs, and Center Stage in honoring Native American history throughout November for Native American Heritage month. The events will begin on November 5th at 11:00 am with the Annual Indigenous Cultural Exhibition on the 2nd Floor of the RUC. Events will continue on November 14th, 15th, and 18th. Commuter Lot west of Tucker Stadium to close 6:00 PM Friday evening
The commuter red parking lot located between Tucker Stadium and the Hooper Eblen Center will be CLOSED beginning 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, November 1, 2024 in preparation for Saturday’s football game. Those still parked after 6 p.m. in the lot, will be contacted and/or towed, at their own expense, to the purple parking lot located on the west side of campus across Willow Ave. Donor Lot A, Donor Lot C, and general gameday parking will open on Saturday. Reserved Tailgate Parking in the 98.5 KISS FM Tailgate Lot begins on Saturday unless scheduled through the Athletics Department

Looking for an intense challenge? Register now for the Putnam Math Competition!
Are you looking for a challenge of epic proportions?
The preeminent college math competition, the Putnam Exam takes place on the first Saturday in December, and is given here on campus. It consists of two 3-hour sessions, comprising a dozen fiendishly constructed puzzles that call upon both your math knowledge and your problem-solving skills. Top performers receive scholarships, and all leave with the knowledge that they have scaled the Mount Everest of math.

Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Bo Anthoney Johnson, Indiana University
This week’s Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar will be given by Bo Anthoney Johnson, a graduate student at Indiana University, Bloomington working at Oak Ridge National Lab. Bo studies a process called CEvNS (“sevens”) at the interface of nuclear and particle physics observed for the first time seven years ago. In his talk Exploring the Standard Model with CEvNS, Bo will describe how new precision measurements of this process can teach us about fundamental aspects of the universe. The seminar will be this Friday at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210, with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!
