Disco Swing- Thursday 3/21
Join us on Thursday, March 21st from 8pm to 11pm for Swing Dance Club’s Disco Swing. We will be meeting in the dance studio of the Memorial Gym for an evening of swing and disco music and dancing. We can teach you everything you need to know, so newcomers are welcome! We will be giving away free sweatshirts and serving refreshments, so swing on by!
Disco/ 80s themed outfits are encouraged, but not required.

TTU Softball hosting fundraiser for Cookeville-Putnam County Animal Shelter
The Tennessee Tech softball team is doing a fundraiser for the Cookeville-Putnam County Animal Shelter during its games vs. Lindenwood on March 29-30.
To be specific, the shelter is in need of dog food.

Please bring the bags to the games at Tech Softball Field (starting at Noon 3/29 and 1 p.m. 3/30). If you can’t make the games but still want to help, we will come pick up the food from your office.

Join us for STEMlympics: Igniting the Torch of Science and Innovation! – Safari Saturday (PreK-3rd Grades)
Combine the excitement of the Olympics with the engaging world of STEM. Come participate in a series of STEM challenges and activities that mirror the spirit of the Olympics, fostering teamwork, creativity, and a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Renewable Energy Educational Park Proposal

What does it mean to grow up living between and across cultures in an age of mobility and the growing urgency to devote ourselves to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion regardless of where we are? What does it mean to go from clueless to committed? And how is it done with intelligence, grace and humor?

WEST Workshop 3/21: Thinking About Writing
Do you find writing intimidating? Do you struggle to take ownership over your writing, or to find your own voice within an assignment? WEST, the Writing Excellence Studio at Tech, is here to help! On Thursday, 3/21, we will be leading a dead hour workshop on Thinking About Writing. We can talk about how to claim your own voice as a writer and how to demystify writing itself. The workshop will be in Henderson Hall 216A, from 11:00-11:50. No registration is required, and all are welcome. Poet Jayme Ringleb to Read at Tennessee Tech on March 21
Center Stage welcomes poet Jayme Ringleb to campus for two events on March 21. They will read from their acclaimed poetry collection, So Tall it Ends in Heaven, called “an intimate, assured debut” by the New York Times, at 7 p.m. at the Backdoor Playhouse. This event is free and open to the public. Earlier in the day, they will give a talk about creative writing called “Poetics of the Trigger: How Can Poetry Address Pain Without Reproducing It?” This talk is open to all students and takes place at 11 a.m. in Henderson Hall 304B. The Scholastic Research Award, presented by the University Research Advisory Committee, is a university-wide award for a single, significant and innovative work produced, published, performed or exhibited from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2023. Two awards, of $1,500 each, are available each year, with one reserved for tenure-track faculty and the other reserved for tenured faculty. Applications must be submitted electronically in a single PDF to jdicey@tntech.edu on or before April 5, 2024.
