    Local Learn, Play, and Explore Sustainable Educational Energy Park Project

    Hello, Tennessee Tech students and faculty!

    We are a team of graduate students in the NSF-NRT ‘Spirit of Gadugi’ Graduate Students Organization. We are working to renovate Whitaker Park in Monterey, Tennessee, with support from the Monterey Alderman and assistance from the Upper Cumberland Development District (UCDD). As we gather funding and resources, we would love to hear your ideas on shaping this community space.

  • Seeking Donations for Cherokee Reservation Food Pantry

    The Living Waters food pantry, which serves the Cherokee reservation in NC, is in sore straits as their Asheville warehouse was destroyed in the hurricane. The pantry has been a partner with TTU’s NSF grant program, Engendering the Spirit of Gadugi at the Food/Energy/Water Nexus. Dr. Troy Smith, Dr. Sabrina Buer, and student volunteers collected donations and delivered them to Cherokee two weeks ago. The history department office is currently accepting donations of food, cash, hygiene and cleaning products, and water for one more supply run on November 8. Please drop donations by 118 Henderson Hall- thank you. Contact Dr. Smith for details at tdsmith@tntech.edu.

    Join the Center for Career Development for this PURPLE Career Readiness Workshop on Tuesday, October 29th, starting at 11 a.m. in the Tech Pride Room of the Roaden University Center. Our staff will be there to assist you in learning skills for interviewing.

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for attendance credit.
