Career Spots are pop-up tabling events held by Career Ambassadors in areas across campus! You can drop-in for a quick chat and gather all kinds of information about Handshake, how to find examples of resumes/cover letters, and upcoming events held like career fairs. We are excited to announce that last week the Center for Global Experiences moved to a new location! We are now located in the Volpe Library room 248. First Purple Career Readiness Workshop on August 27th – Writing an Employer Read
Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, August 27th, at 11 a.m. in Stonecipher Hall, Room 102 for the first Purple Career Readiness Workshop! Our knowledgeable staff will teach you how to successfully highlight your skills to have an employer-ready resume!
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card

Baja SAE Meeting August 27
Join us for the first meeting of the Baja SAE team on Tuesday, August 27 at 6 p.m. in Prescott Hall 215. Each school year, the team designs, builds, and competes with a single seat off-road vehicle at two national competitions. Students can expect to be involved from the beginning, regardless of experience level. There is no experience required to be a part of the Baja team and gain valuable hands-on learning experience. Some opportunities include design, welding, fabrication, machining, social media coordination, and business/marketing teams. Students from all majors are welcome. Retirement Reception for Deanna Metts

American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/ AED Class
Due to the overwhelming response two additional American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/ AED classes have been added including Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27. The class is sponsored by the Exercise Science Department is open to any faculty, staff or graduate assistant that may be interested. The class is a blended learning class in which a portion of the class will be completed online prior to the skill session. You have an opportunity to choose from two hands on skill session including: Class #1: Monday, August 26: 5:30- 8:00 pm or Class #2: Tuesday, August 27: 5:30- 8:00 pm. Parking & Transportation update on 2024-2025 parking permits
The Parking & Transportation Office is working to quickly fulfill all 2024-2025 parking permit reservations. Please note, if you opted for campus mail/U.S. mail delivery of your permit and it has not yet arrived, a temporary permit can be downloaded and printed via the online portal where you placed your reservation. Additionally, Parking & Transportation will honor expired parking permits until the first day of classes: Thursday, Aug. 22.
If you opted for in-person pickup of your parking permit, please visit the parking office at RUC 122 during business hours Monday – Friday. If you have not yet purchased a parking permit and intend to park on campus, please make your selection at https://tennesseetech.aimsparking.com/.

Food Truck Friday & Wings Up Day!
Head the the Main Quad on Friday, August 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Food Truck Friday and Wings Up Day! Students will have a chance to mix and mingle with Tennessee Tech’s Division I student-athletes while trying out some local cuisine! There will also be free posters, stickers, schedules, and more!

The UCSC is hosting a PARTY after Mix and Mingle on Wednesday, August 21st. There will be games, snacks, a bonfire, and a movie starting at 8pm! This event is for all students! Model Railroad Club Open House
The Model Railroad Club will have open houses at 1PM Sundays and 12PM Wednesdays for the next two weeks. Alternative meeting times will be decided by the members. The Club layout is in the very back of the Foundation Hall gymnasium. The gym entrance is on the second floor, west end of the building. International Friends host family signups
Would you like to meet some of the new international students at Tennessee Tech and learn about their culture? International Friends is simply a social program to help international students get acclimated to campus and Cookeville (not a live-in program) and for families to meet the students and learn about other cultures . A monthly activity is requested. Whenever possible, students should be included in special celebrations.

International Overdose Awareness Candlelight Vigil
Please join the Center for Addiction Prevention and Support as we honor students and community members that have died due to drug overdose. This event will have several community resources to meet and learn from, guest speakers, and several ways to honor lost loved ones. August 29th beginning at 7 p.m. on the Quad.
