Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Luke Chapman, TTU Electrical Engineering
This week’s Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar will feature work from Electrical Engineering major Luke Chapman. In his talk Nitrogen Vacancy Optically-Detected Magnetometry for Characterization of Systematic Effects in Precision Ultracold Neutron Experiments, Luke will describe his work over the summer building a magnetic field measurement device using a solid state quantum system. The seminar will be this Friday at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210. (Snacks will be served starting at 3:30pm.) These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are encouraged to attend!

Law Enforcement: Challenges, Opportunities, and Careers
The Sociology and Criminal Justice club will be hosting guest speaker Dr. Dennis Bowman on Monday, November 7th from 6 pm- 8pm in Stonecipher Lecture Hall room 113. Dr. Bowman has extensive experience in law enforcement both practically and academically. With over 30 years of experience from the Illinois State Police and as Professor Emeritus in the School of Law Enforcement & Justice Administration at Western Illinois University, Dr. Bowman will discuss contemporary issues currently faced by law enforcement and strategies for dealing with those issues. Dr. Bowman will also provide students with tips on how to earn positions in law enforcement agencies upon graduating. Engineers Without Borders (EWB) & TTU Water Professionals are hosting their third joint meeting of the semester THIS Thursday November 3rd in Prescott Hall Room 330 during dead hour. Kelley Peck and Austin Auld from The Army Corps of Engineers will be presenting while we have sandwiches for lunch! The Story:
Crawlspace is based on the story of a convicted serial killer. Although inspired by his own words and the public record of his life and crimes, this is a work of historical fiction. Certain names and identifying details have been changed to protect the privacy of individuals. Fictional characters have been added, and liberties have been taken that differentiate this work from the true-life events. The musical is a theatrical re-imagining of the story and horror of the case and those who suffered in its wake.
TRIGGER WARNING: The content of this production may be emotionally challenging and potentially traumatizing. It includes depictions and themes that are highly sensitive in nature.
