Fall 2025: Divisive Concepts Legislation Workshop
Faculty and staff are invited to hear a presentation by our University Counsel about the state’s divisive concepts legislation updates on Tuesday, September 16th at 3 PM in the Lab Science Commons room 121. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. This professional development workshop is sponsored by the University Counsel and the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFÉ). Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Dr. Kenneth Long, MIT
The first Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar of the semester will be this Monday at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210 (with snacks served at 3:30pm). Our speaker is a TTU alumnus, now a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT, who was closely involved in a recent highly-anticipated result from the CMS collaboration associated with the effort to find missing elements in the fundamental physics “periodic table”, which is called the Standard Model. In his talk Measuring the mass of the W boson: a portrait of a complex measurement at the Large Hadron Collider, Dr. Long will explain how this experiment was performed and provide context to understand why the result is so interesting scientifically. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!

Free 5-Week Adult Swim Clinic
The Exercise Science Department is offering a free 5-week Adult Swim Clinic for faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and community members on Monday evenings at the Memorial Gym Pool starting on September 15. If you are serious swimmer that wants to become a graceful swimmer or a beginner that is just learning to swim, I encourage you to sign up for the one of the upcoming 5-week clinics. There will be three clinics offered including:
- Triathletes/ Advanced/ Intermediate Swimmers
2. Novice/ Beginner Swimmers (comfortable in deep water)
3. Phobic Swimmers/ Limited Experience (not comfortable in deep water)

21st Annual Nolan Fowler Constitution Day Celebration
Please join us for the 21st Annual Nolan Fowler Constitution Day Celebration to be held Tuesday, September 16, at 6 p.m. in Stonecipher Lecture Hall 113. This year’s program will consist of a showing of the film “A More Perfect Union: America Becomes a Nation, The Constitutional Convention of 1787.” Produced by Brigham Young University and distributed by The National Center for Constitutional Studies, this two-hour film offers the compelling story of our Founding Fathers’ efforts to establish the greatest nation on earth. There will be bandanas and shirts to tie dye, as well as snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy! No snacks are over $1, and no tie dying over $5! Running of the Freshmen

Our annual Running of the Freshmen will now take place on Saturday, September 13 at our football game against Davidson College.
Those who participate will receive a free t-shirt and lead our Golden Eagle football team on to the field.
