We will have multiple models of EVs available for interested students, staff and faculty to test drive or ride in, and information about ongoing projects that are advancing EVs in Tennessee!! April HR Office Hour – Financial Planning
The Office of Human Resources will hold our monthly HR Office Hour on Wednesday, April 16, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. During the session, Ascend Federal Credit Union will share information about financial planning and budgeting tips. We encourage all employees to attend this informative session.

Michelle Huddleston Memorial Food Pantry Food Drive
We will be holding a food drive at the Michelle Huddleston Memorial Food Pantry Dedication on Tuesday, April 15th in the RUC Tech Pride Room at 11am.
The food pantry requests donations like pasta, canned chicken, rice, tomato sauce, cereals, pancake mix, baking supplies, canned soups, canned fruit and vegetables, and other canned goods and shelf-stable items.
Your gift honors Michelle’s legacy and helps to ensure the pantry will impact future generations of Tennessee Tech students.

Student Affairs Student Spotlight – Lauren Watson
Meet Lauren Watson, our April Student Affairs Student Spotlight! Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Georgia State University and is now a master’s student in Environmental Informatics at Tech. Lauren currently serves as Vice President of the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association and recently helped plant 50 trees in the Cookeville community for Tennessee Tree Day 2025. She also played a key role in organizing a Sierra Club meeting on campus and advocated for legislation like the Tennessee Waste to Jobs Act as a District Ambassador during Conservation Day on the Hill. This summer, Lauren will intern with a transportation infrastructure company in Nashville on their Environmental Planning team. Congrats, Lauren!

Today! The Clothesline Project 2025
Thursday April 10th, 10:00-2:00pm, Tech Pride Room (RUC 101) & Centennial Plaza
The Clothesline Project displays handmade shirts bearing witness to interpersonal violence in our community. Each shirt is decorated to represent a particular survivor’s experience. The Clothesline Project started with thirty-one shirts hung in Hyannis, Massachusetts in 1990 to call attention to violence against women. Since then, thousands of projects have been started in communities worldwide. The Tennessee Tech Women’s Center has been involved since 1998 and has always welcomed participation from all people. 2025 CITL Summer Intensive: Harnessing the Power of AI in Education
Register now for the CITL’s 2025 Summer Intensive – Harnessing the Power of AI in Education. Participants can join in person on campus in the IDEAL Classroom or via Microsoft Teams.
This workshop gives educators across the state an opportunity to explore AI in the classroom through interactive sessions, helpful resources, and an informative discussion panel. Topics include prompt generation, AI for assessment and alignment, and AI integration in teaching.

Judges Needed on April 22 for Student Research & Creative Inquiry Day
Please consider spending a portion of your day on April 22 evaluating student posters as part of the 20th Annual Student Research & Creative Inquiry event. Judging has expanded to a full day on April 22 from 8:00am to 6:00pm to fit a variety of schedules. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 24 at 11:00. Charity Pickleball Tournament
This is a charity pickleball tournament we are holding for our Organizational Leadership class on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 6:00PM. This will be located in the MacGym at the Fit and is open to only TTU students. All proceeds go to House of Hope Charity. Single Player is $5 and Teams are $10. We will pair each player up with a teammate if they do not have one. Vandyck Adade-Yeboah Wins Poster Award at National Conference
Congratulations to Exceptional Learning PhD candidate Vandyck Adade-Yeboah on being selected as the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA) 2025 Convention poster session award winner. Vandyck is a Ghana native who is passionate about researching needs in his home country. He and his advisor, Dr. Krystal Kennedy, have been working with professionals and parents in Ghana over the past two years to research and address behavioral needs in school-aged populations. Vandyck is currently working on his dissertation in the same area and plans to continue working with his native community.
