Come join the Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness for QPR Suicide Prevention Training on Thursday October 10th, 2024, from 11:00-12:00 in the RUC room 371. The Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness is excited to be offering our “Adulting 1010” support group. A safe space to talk about stress when it comes to “the real world.” Adjusting to living away from home for the first time, planning meals on a budget, trying to stay on top of your classes while also maintaining a social life, or you’re about to graduate college and have no idea what you’re doing; whatever it is you’re going through – this is the group for you! Facilitated by Tessa Benefield, LPC/MHSP and Ben Higgins, LPC/MHSP-S. This support group will be on Fridays at 3:00pm beginning October 11th. The group will be located in the RUC room 387. Please email counsel@tntech.edu for more information and prior to attending this group. All students are welcome!

Intercultural Affairs will host the first Cultural Festival of the year on Thursday, October 10th from 4:30 PM to 7 PM in the Quad. It’s an evening you won’t want to miss—featuring music from around the world, engaging activities from student organizations, and mouth-watering cultural dishes, all highlighting the diverse experiences of our campus community.

Earlier that day, from 11 AM to 12 PM in the Tech Pride Room (RUC 101), join us for a special panel discussion. Interested in learning more about the metal casting process? Good news, the Tennessee Tech Chapter of the American Foundry Society is hosting an open foundry night on Thursday, October 10 starting at 5:30pm. During this time, you will get the chance to see, and even participate in, the casting process as experienced personnel walk you through each step of making your own casting. Disclaimer: Only authorized personnel can pour the metals. Closed-toed leather shoes/boots are required. Pants are required (NO SWEATPANTS OR LEGGINGS). Learn more about this amazing program at one of our two information sessions October 15th during dead hour (11am-12pm) and October 22nd during dead hour! Both sessions will take place in the Tech Pride Room, RUC room 101 and snacks will be provided.
