Foreign Languages and the WHSON Community Outreach
The Whitson-Hester School of Nursing and Foreign Languages are teaming up through PULSE and ESTAR Sanos to bring heart health to our rural and Spanish-speaking communities! Faculty and students are working side by side at local events to raise awareness of cardiometabolic syndrome (obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol). Events include free screenings and ideas to improve health through lifestyle changes such as exercise “snacks” and food swaps.

Plants Rock!
October is Sustainability Month, and to celebrate The Office of Sustainability will be hosting our Plants Rock event! Come join us on The Quad this Thursday, Oct. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to build your own self-watering planter from a recycled plastic bottle and/or paint a rock with words of encouragement.
